Default Has anyone had any success getting info on a USPS shipment?

I have some fishing line that I ordered back in June from Singapore. Below is a cut & paste from the USPS website, my package has been sitting in LA since 6/22. I have called the USPS office in LA 4 times and I keep getting voice mail and of course no one calls me back. I went to my local post office and they were dumbfounded and said sometimes this happens and there isn't anything you can do about it. The guy said it can sometime take 3-4 months to get through customs. What doesn't make any sense is I placed another order from the same vendor and I got it within a week. How can this happen? I our USPS really that f'ed up?? Does anyone have any advice what I can do?

I ordered headphones from Amazon July 2 and expected delivery in 3 - 4 days. But the tracker said to expect delivery between July 29 and August 15! I guess they put them on a slow boat from China!
I guess that's what they mean when they say " free shipping!"

The shipper filled out a tracer form on 7/2 and got no response. I guess I'm just going to have to wait.

What is amazing is the shipper shipped another spool of line and it only took 4 days to get to me from Singapore. The shipment they did in June was packaged exactly the same as the box I just got.

How can this happen?

You don't see anything strange about a USPS sort facility in Singapore, and a 5.5 day transit to LA ...

It took less than 6 days to get from Singapore to LA. LA has now had the package for over 3 weeks and have not shipped it. It's just fishing line, if they had to inspect it how long could it possibly take?

If you haven't yet received the product shipped in June, how do you know it was packaged the same?

I would guess US Customs is the problem. The amount of stuff that comes into the US through the Los Angeles port is staggering.

I'm assuming it's the same since it's coming from the same shipper and because the only difference was the braid I did get was 30lb test and the one I'm waiting for has 20lb test.

I just looked again today and there is no change.

Yeah, that's why I said 5 and 1/2. That would mean air freight, and not likely from a USPS sort facility in Singapore that would show on USPS tracking. I have no doubt the shipment may be hung up, but I see nothing that indicates USPS is the culprit. USPS tracking messages show arrival and time at the facility, departure and time. It doesn't say "your item has been processed through our sort facility" ...

My guess is that it went and sat at the ISC in LA and will just "show up". You're about 2 weeks (since it hit CA and you're in OH)... I'd say you would have it any day now.

Or... it could just be lost.

I opened up a USPS Bag today (we get them by the bunch) and in the bottom of a bag was parcel from another vendor a mile away from me with a June 10th date on it.

Stuff gets lost. Contact the seller... if they're nice, wait a little while longer. I generally don't do anything for 30 days on intl. parcels that are USPS del. After 30 days I generally involve the credit card company IF the vendor is douchey.

Believe it or not but my fishing line arrived today. It had been held in customs since June 22. It had a bunch of tape on it that said inspected by US customs, now I know how long it takes if they want to inspect something. No idea why they wanted to check my package and less it was just a random thing.
