TV audio wireless help
I am not even sure what I want exists.

Saw this article today and it got me thinking.

I am not an audiophile and don't need perfect sound. I have not kept up with the latest and greatest.

However when I watch TV sometime I like better sound than the TV itself offers. I had a Sharp soundbar which was purchased as I have a Sharp TV and I thought it would be the most compatible. It worked until it busted. It was all connected via HDMI and worked for the TV and the blue ray which i hardly ever use.

Anyhow is there a wireless speaker system for a TV that perhaps (again I know zilch) that has one component that hooks up to the HDMI or other input/output on a modern smart TV and then all the other stuff (base speaker, other speakers, dvd) work without wires?

I've seen systems with wireless surrounds or subwoofer, but not wireless main speakers. You had a speaker bar before - why not get a new one that supports wireless sub or surrounds? You want the sound bar right above/below the TV anyway, so that connection shouldn't be an issue.

Check Sonos.

expensive, but it's amazing!

you would want, at a minimum, the sonos soundbar and two of their "Play 1" satellite speakers.

and then could add the sub-woofer later ($700)

This converts SPDIF (optical digital audio output from your TV) to Bluetooth, so any Bluetooth headset or Bluetooth receiver across the room (Bluetooth module that plugs into an aux works as well) becomes the sound system. Bluetooth phone speakers... a few people here say they like using a stereo pair on their boat.

This looks very good but I never stream music. I am not an audiophile so maybe I'll just the sonos soundbar.
