Default Keys in November/December

Scratching the same old same old cruise to the Bahamas with my wife and 3 kids . The

Executive decision was made this afternoon by the wife and I that we are going to pack up

and head to the keys for a week either thanksgiving week (is that even possible) or first

Week or so in December . Looking for anyone who has/knows anyone that we could rent a

house from for a week , or any suggestions on where to stay . I have been before but wife

and kids have not . Would like to stay islamorada area if possible but open to suggestions.

Definately ZERO interest in staying in Key West due to kids being on the young side . But

will day trip there for the we did it factor . Ideally would like to rent a house so we can cook

and enjoy the at home kinda feel while away. (And save a little cash) I know it's a ways out

But we want to start the planning now and maybe even get place paid for so we can relax

and let the excitement build . All help will be great . Don't know where to start other than

calling hampton inn islamorada and using points but really would like a house for

the week . Any other suggestions on dining / activities would be great kids are 11 9 7 . So we

will be sure to hit Robbie's and feed the tarpon THX crew

Best bet would be to find a house at Key Colony Beach in Marathon.

If you don't find house, marathon has most options and more central although islamorada is very nice.

For KW, take the conch train and you will get the whole island and pick from the options. I really liked the aquarium and walking over to the seaport and a few favorite spots. Guessing best deal would be November.

Have fun. You can make a great trip for whichever keys area you find for the best deal for your family.

The time period you are wanting to come is great and considered low season.
I own a duplex in Key Colony Beach and am providing the links to each unit. It is a great place with 60 foot of dockage, private pool, and walking distance to restaurants and thing to do.

Thanks for the links and info so far ! Dug in a little to what's been posted . Most seem to be on inlet/channel. Any suggestions for something with access to beach ? I admit was lazy on the search on recommended sites . But almost all were canal . Will look deeper . Any other info PLZ . Excited to get this thing planned . I know "beach" isn't like normal beach , but hoping for something with swimming/snorkeling goofing off out the back door .

Not many beaches.
It's a place for boaters, not beachers.

The pool is shared between the 2 units. The time of year you are looking at the other unit will probably not be rented.
Marathon has 2 nice beaches, Coco Plum Beach is a 4 mile natural beach on the east end of town and Sombrero Beach is a maintained beach in the middle of town.
Bahia Honda is a nationally rated beach and is 15 to 18 miles west of Marathon.
