Default Snake in the hen house !!

We had some baby chicks hatch out and only one made it . Well this morning there was a black snake that got in the coop and my daughter really took it personal that the snake ate the last baby chick ! Sooo what does an 11 yr. old girl do ??? Jerks it out of the hen house and the rest is history

I should add we do not condone killing black snakes actually like to have them around our land , but this one crossed the line with my daughter . I was at work or we may have considered relocating but my wife was terrified . Obviously my daughter on the other hand was not .

Taking matters into her on hands. Yes some are ok to have around, but sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do.

Kudos... she got it done!

I don't like killing anything, but sometimes you have to. Several years ago, we were losing chickens. Come out in the morning to big piles of blood and feathers. Finally stayed up late one night with the flashlight and shotgun. About 2:00 in the morning, I hear a ruckus and open the 2nd story window, turn on the flashlight and there's a huge raccoon making off with a fresh killed chicken. Fired twice and dispatched her.

Next day, I'm out in the yard and I hear these forlorn cries coming up the driveway. WTF? Three baby raccoons looking for their mother. God, did I feel bad.

My son will squeal like a little girl but my daughter has no problem grabbing one. And sometimes chasing her brother with it.

Great work!

I agree that black snakes are usually best left alone, but, she did an awesome job!
