John Deere Open

Shoot - RAIN DELAY! Watching Jim Gallagher interview Zach Johnson on Golf Channel. Heck, I played with Gallagher in a Pro-Am in the early 90's at the Chick fil A (may have been the Motorola Western Open at that time) near Chicago.

Jordon Speith must have a superman suit under his under armor.

Unlike Tiger who screwed Jason Dufner's wife, lost Lindsey, and can't win at the local putt putt.

Karma.

Great to see a solid well rounded kid do so well. Makes me wish my dad lived long enough to see to the new "king" of golf.

3 majors this year? 4?

Spieth is just on fire! It's great to see a young pro so grounded, easy going, and playing so well! I hope he kicks ass at the British Open. Golf is such a fickle game though and there are so many players capable of winning every week. Spieth is showing he has the consistency though...looks like he will be hoisting trophies for a long time to come!!

The kid is really good. His game, except the putting reminds me a lot of Tom Watson (he is a much better putter than Tom ever was).
On the right courses - the ones that don't require drives to carry 300 yards (his average is 292, which puts him 15 yards behind #2-5 on the PGA list (Dustin Johnson averages 320, 11 yards ahead of #2), he is a threat to win every week.
I expect, if Tiger is correct and the St. Andrews is soft, Jordan has a really good chance to win.

Damn he did it again! On to The Open!

I really felt sorry for Tom Gillis - you knew in the playoff, it was only a matter of time before he made a mistake and lost.

Yeah, the wife and I were pulling for him..

This was probably his first real chance at a win in some time. Here is a quote from him

""When you're going to be 47, the window is closing," said Gillis, who shot a 7-under 64 in the final round. "What I saw [Sunday] and the last three days, I'd have to say makes me think I've still got some tread on the tires left."

Jordan will have many, many opportunities to win again. So far in 56 tournaments since turning pro, he has won six times and finished runner-up seven.

He should continue on a pretty good path and rack up a lot of trophies.

Unless he pulls a Tiger and starts thinking with his other head.

I find that highly doubtful, however.

Now I can't wait to see him play next weekend!

And I thought this post was something about tractors.
