Default When your thread or responce to a thread goes horribly wrong

Because we only can interrupt interpret (Thanks JD) the written word and not the (possible) intent of those words, there could be a derail, a misunderstanding....maybe.

While the sentence structure may seem clear to it's author, the readers may take it in a totally different direction.

Once the back and forth begins and it seems as if the original point is being muddied further, with the best efforts to make it clearer, the popcorn and drinks are acquired.
The thread takes off like a rocket.
Then, every word is scrutinized. Every sentence is dissected.
You get,
"That's not what I said!"
"Yes it is"
"You're twisting my words"
"You only quoted part of what I said"
"You started it"
"Dick!"
"Jerk"
"DB!"
"Your Mother is a ........!"
"Where's so in so!?"
"He was sent to Camp"

If you go away, you may have pages to read to catch up.
If you are late to the party, you will skip multiple pages to try and get up to speed or ask for a summary.

Some responses are to the tune of:

.

That is one reason we love this place.
Entertainment shared around the world in the click of a button.

("If my thoughts or writings are misunderstood to be anything other than in good fun, well then, run with it!!")

Irony - it is even more compelling on the internet.

It's about threads or responces to threads.

Is this about that guy who posted about getting ads for LGBT stuff and everyone reminding him that it was based on his Google searches?

That was funny.

Copied a minute ago. It's always changing.

Started a thread a while back asking how long did it take you (anyone) to become a member after finding THT?
Some signed up right away and some were Guest for a very long time.
