Default Cold sores, fever blisters

Anyone else have issues with these things? I usually get one or two each summer and have yet to find anything to heal them quickly.

I'm on a prescription for acyclovir and that seems to help prevent the frequency of them but wondering if any of the over-the-counter products were any better than the others for healing them.

I've not had that problem fortunately but hear they can be a bear. Is that a form of herpes? Also hear acidic fruit like lemon will bring them on.

I get them once in a while, Abreeva usually clears them up quickly.

Lemon Balm, you can get it on amazon, if you put it on right when you start to feel it come on you won't even get one.
Abreva works good to, but the lemon balm is the bomb!

When you first get it take a crap load of L-Lysine pills. Like 8 a day. It's got some form of Amino Acid in it that stops the growth. Use with Abreeva.

And stop kissing hookers.

Fever blisters are usually related to a Vitamin B12 deficiency. When I was having trouble with them I took a vitamin B complex supplement with a slightly higher B12 and it made the problem MUCH better. I dont seem to be having the problem nearly as much so I have gotten lazy about the Vitamin but that's my fix.

Try it.

For me, there is a correlation with the back of my head being exposed to wind and then getting a cold sore. No idea why. Medicated Blistex works well.

I am an expert. Used to get them all the time. Not so frequently now as I have learned my triggers. Any two of the following will usually set one off:

1. Stress and /or lack of sleep
2. Sun exposure (w/o sunscreen)
3. Peanuts
4. Chocolate

When I do feel one coming on, acyclovir and abreva work pretty good together.

I am telling everyone look into the lemon balm, its not totally proven, but it may prevent any from coming back in that place.

You need to quit sleeping next to the draft.

#'s 1 and 2 are definitely my triggers. As soon as I feel it coming on, I reach for the Valaciclovir (Valtrex). Works well.

The sores are not cause by kissing Hookers, it's where you "kiss" them that causes the problem.

Sun, sunburn, dry lips, lemon or lime, pineapple, stress...

For me keep Aquaphor with sunblock on them. Acyclovir all the time or at least once you notice one starting...
