Default 100 Round Mag

Just got a late 4th of July special. Surefire 100 round magazines for $89.99. I'm thinking of getting 2 for my Tavor. Just because I can. I was amazed at the list of no-no states. I already have 6 ea. 30 round mags, but damn... they make a 60 and a 100 STANAG for 5.56. I kinda hope I'd never need a 100 round mag, but my inclination is "buy at least 2".

What say ye, THT?

Hell, they might become collector items... or save my life. Tough call.

Im trapped here working in Jersey where only a 10 round mag is legal. They will put you in jail for possession of a 20 rounder. You probably get the death sentence for possession of a 100 rounder. Cant wait to get back to Florida.

I can barely afford an afternoon shooting 20 rd mags, an afternoon with 100 rd mag would be painful on the wallet

In general, ultra-hi cap mags suffer reliability issues.

While these huge mags could certainly be fun at a backyard range, I would NOT rely on them for self defense.

Two for $180... why not?

Why? Just curious. Everything I read on these by Surefire was top notch. They seemed to have some issues at first, but are high-grade aluminum, not like my plastic Magpuls. And they went back to the drawing board to make them right. Please tell me why they would be worthless. Yes, I like the novelty factor, but will actually use them as designed. We blow up shit here in AZ. Why? Because we can!

Unless you are going full auto and want to see serious destruction I don't understand the appeal. I have a ton of 40 round mags and even they get boring after 20+ shots in a row.

The extra weight and size the 100 adds makes grabbing two 40 rounders much easier.

Dulce of you want to grab one why not, one day they could stop selling them making it worth a lot more.

Again, like I said... there is a certain novelty factor and agreed, one day ALL 50 states could be on the no-no list.

They're nothing more than a novelty item. If you only have 6 30 rounders I would personally spend that $200 on more 30 round pmags instead.

I have a plastic 75 rounder for my SBR and LMT. Magpul follower in the mag and it works flawlessly. I paid $65 each for the 2 I have. I've only loaded em up twice to check function and reliability. They work. Other than that it's 20 round PSA aluminum mags in my guns. So much better than the Magpul plastics

Just curious what's so much better about the PSA mags over the magpuls? I've never had an issue with pmags.

Like the other man said, get a dozen at least, the ban will come; you can count on that. And, you may actually need them one day.

Pmags are considered by many experts and professionals to be top shelf..Im curious about your comment I like them because the function and don't tear up my hands like the metal ones (I have soft hands )

Surefire makes a damned fine mag. I have a couple 60's that feed flawlessly. Only problem I see with that 100 is it will heavy but that is one hell of a price.
