Default You ever think of something from the past......

......for no reason?

Years ago a friend of mine spent over 3 years building a 40' steel trawler in his yard. Then the big day approached for launching but in the meantime he had to get permits from the town, hire police and an electric crew to move wires spanning the route to the ramp. He also bought beer for all that helped, lots of beer! By the time we got her to the ramp the tide was too low so we waited another 4 hours until the tide was right. Four hours and lots of beer and one big problem. There were loads of people to see this but no private place to drain the vein! So my buddy said to go up the ladder and go into the bilge! It seemed like the perfect solution, out of sight and it will be pumped out once in the water. The only negative was a town know-it-all who circled the boat pointing out how he would have built her. Nobody liked the guy, he never uttered a compliment but was quick to criticize. Then it happened......With all that beer the bilge filled more than expected and the pump kicked in. And guess where the town know-it-all was standing.....Yup right under the bilge port!

That's not all!

Not realizing what just soaked him he yelled: " The boat isn't even launched and it's taking on water"!

I don't know what sparked that memory but it's 100% true and has stuck in my mind like it happened yesterday. I always thought a scene like that in a movie would be ideal!

Funny how we think of a memory completely out of the blue. Though yours is quite funny!

Man, if I witnessed that like you did, I wouldn't be able to stop thinking about it because I don't think I would've ever stopped laughing. That's gotta be one of the most awesome and hilarious stories I have ever heard.
