Default All grey and I may have had a blond moment.

So here I am with only 8 days before I start my summer trek to Sturgis, The Rockys, Pacific Coast Hwy and back in October. My to-do list is down to the 'next to last minute' items.
Yesterday: Pull, clean, put boat in storage.
I took delivery of this boat new on Christmas Eve 2003... I trailered it NJ-FL until about 2010 when I started to go west in the summers... I don't know how many times I have launched and retrieved it by myself, 50, 60, 80 times? I have no clue.
So, as my normal, yesterday I hooked up to the trailer. I had already dragged the trailer out, made certain the wheels go around, the tires were round and it was ready for the 1.6 mile trek to my yard from the ramp.... I pull it to the ramp, park it, walk 1/2mi back to the lift, and putt over to the ramp, tie the boat off, and back the trailer in.
Get on the boat, attempt to drive onto the trailer and it don't fit WTF??? It always fit!
Must be my imagination.. Something's wrong, back off, tie the boat again, pull the trailer out, nothing...
So using my infinite wisdom, and 150hp I jam the SOB on there : Busted the top off the port PVC guide.

Still clueless as to what the issue was this morning, I'm chatting with my bud on the phone that knows the rig as well as I do almost and I'm holding one of the PVC pipes.. The SOB was loose, the U bolt you see in the top photo came loose and the damn thing slid in closing the opening! SOB... Well, she's home getting a overdue bath, no harm done except a piece of PVC.

Moral of the story: There are other things on the trailer to check once in a while besides brakes, bearings and tires!

Hmmm, I looked at the pic before reading the entire thread and was thinking, "Man, he got a lot of bottom paint on his bunks!"

Have fun in Sturgis! Oh and be safe
