Default True Detective Season 2

Anybody else having trouble getting in to this season? The plot hasn't pulled me in, none of the characters are as intriguing as last year's "heroes", and the actors aren't on their game like Harrelson and Mcconaughey.

Not sure how long I'll keep watching if it doesn't get interesting soon.

I watched the 1st episode when it first aired .wtf? Extremely hard to follow, still don't really get what's going on,definitely not what last season was.
I haven't been back cause I thought it sucked basically.
I was told yesterday that a few episodes in it all makes sense and starts to get really good .
I guess I'll give it another try .

First episode sucked. It is getting very intriguing.

This is my opinion of where things are headed. Right now, the story is not linear. They don't want us to understand a lot and to be confused. Each episode, as they delve more into the past, we understand more. My guess is by the end, when all is revealed, we are blown away. This season seems to be almost more about how all the main characters got to where they are in this situation that brought them together. That their own individual histories are as, if not more important, than the 'current' plot.

Nowhere near as good as season 1.Too much weird stuff and tangled storylines.Plus V.V and C.F. are pretty lame.

Miss the ole creole season, but I am hooked on this new season after what happened in episode 2. Biker Cop is my new favorite guy, other detective is a sicko.

This season is good. I like the darkness of it all.

I suppose if I was expecting a continuation of the first season I would be thrown off a bit.

It is off to a slow start as they build characters and background, I hope it gets near season's 1's intensity. Not much else to watch.

Season 1 is a tough act to follow. I will reserve judgment on Season 2 and allow it play out, but it will be difficult for it to ever match the smoldering intensity of the plot (and sub-plots) of Season 1, not to mention it's superb acting, but I think it's coming. Stay tuned.

So far it has been a confusing mishmash. One thing for sure the first seasons actors have turned there jobs over to a bunch of weirdo's and they have become producers. It could just become another LA Cop show.

I think they want us confused. It seems they are releasing a bit more background and past on the characters and story each season. This last episode was the one that secured me watching the whole season. I think the last two episodes will make the whole thing worth it.

It is a venue for the "A" list actors to get face time with the public as their careers slip. Consequently, there is a whole lot of rambling dialog, and not a lot of interesting cases. Boring.

You guys remember the first couple episodes season one? Pretty convoluted if I recall.

They're trying to make a deep, layered crime show. Add some good character development (a hallmark of hbo) and you have a recipe for some boring episodes.

It will all make sense in the end. I'm holding out to binge on it like a giant ice cream cake.

Yup. Because Mcconoghuay (however the hell you spell it) really was slipping after Mud, and Winning an Oscar for Dallas Buyers Club.

I haven't given up yet...Season one got really good about episode 4, so I'm hopeful.

I do feel it is lacking in that, the characters are doing it real-time, as opposed to telling the story after the fact. I think that's what was so awesome about the first season, seeing the straight laced detective, then watching them tell the story as off the job washed up semi drunk detectives.

I think the hook was set in episode one last season. If it weren't for how great last season was I wouldn't have watched S2E2. I'll admit it's getting a little better, but it's pretty slow going.
