Well, I wasn't singling you out if that's what you think.

I see him putting his money where his mouth is. Lots of people talk a big game but he is actually standing up for his principles. And for his stance, he's being called a pussy, a candy ass, and yes, even an idiot.

I'd have to call bullshit on that.

If his principles would not allow him to have the rebel flag on the car, he wouldn't have paid $110,000 for it in 2012.

You think it took him 3 years to 'find' his principles?

PC Bullshit.

Yes, he is "a pussy, a candy ass, and yes, even an idiot."

You nailed it. I bet his sponsors were ready to pull away from him if he didn't conform to their idea of what the flag stands for, and Bubba wasn't man enough to go on his own.

It's sad to me that someone would ruin an automotive icon in the interest of being politically correct. PC is totally and completely out of control. Maybe they should just erase all references to the Confederacy in order to make black people feel better.

Yeah, maybe it did. Maybe he got fed up with the "I hate anybody that ain't exactly like me" crap that is so prevalent in certain circles. Maybe he felt the time was right to show how he really feels. Maybe he's not one of the sheep and can think for himself. Maybe he had an epiphany in the last few days or maybe he came to that decision over the last three years. I don't know and I don't care. Like I said before, he put his money where his mouth is. Not everyone does.

Doubt it captain. He is anti-gay, is known as the "ugly American". He's probably on a PR/PC trip.

What he is doing is exactly something one of the sheep would do. Doesn't appear he is putting his money where his mouth is, appears he is putting his mouth where his money is

Bubba is entitled to be a pussified, dumbass and we are entitled to make fun of him. I have no respect for people that suspend their principles when the PCgestapo get in their faces.

This x2.
I was at the Masters 2012 when he won and hoped to get him to sign my souvenir flag one day.
Now I can let my cat shit on it for a pussy signature.

I didn't take it as you were singling me out. It is his money and he can do what he wants. Rebel flag or not, I was just saying he was being an idiot for destroying the value of the car, it's a poor business decision. The car is an asset and that asset has value because of it's history and present condition. Change the condition and you kill the value of the asset. I think he should sell the car and donate the proceeds to Al Sharpton.

As I understand it, the issue of the battle flag doesn't have anything to do with homosexuality (despite some trying to link the two in this thread). But I'm sure you know better than me.

Here's my stance on the whole thing - the flag has been usurped by racists. Any relationship to heritage, a tenuous relationship at best, has been overtaken by the racism linked to the flag in the minds eyes of most Americans. If you can't see the connection with this flag to racist views, then it is my opinion that you are either lying to yourself or you have the proverbial blinders on. You can call it PC if you want. I call it reality.

Now, before you start calling me names, please know that my father's ancestry is comprised of poor farmers in Tennessee from before the civil war and some served in battle. Some were wounded, some were killed. The thing that is relevant here is it is my understanding that not one of them fought under the flag in question. Although that flag is not my heritage, the civil war is. I have as much right to claim southern heritage as anyone yet I don't run around with the flag on my truck. My guess is that very few could actually say that they had relatives fighting under that flag.

If you want to fly the flag feel free. If you think it's all about "heritage", continue to believe as you wish. If you think it's a racist symbol, you are free to feel that way as well. Believe what you want, live how you want. Bubba does.

Nazi Germany was full of people just like most Americans. People who had NO balls to stick up for what was right.

Just followers who cowered at the slight suggestion that what they thought was "wrong" and not popular by those in power. ..........

We've become a nation of gross political correctness and apology. It's so freakin sick to see this get worse and worse.

As for Bubba, I used to like him, but now he's a stinkin pussy.

IMHO the different flag argument is an irrelevant point. The US flag at that time was not the same one we celebrate today.
The whole flag shit storm is ridiculous but it's another step in stripping the freedoms we used to enjoy.

I read an article recently which noted Bubba as the most hated player on tour.

Anyone have any knowledge on this claim? I was surprised to read that.

Did the Klan not fly old glory at their little gatherings as well?

Should I boycott bed linens?
