Default I am still alive!

Hey gang. I wanted to post an update. I did not die in 2013, Nearly so but I survived. I was in the hospital for seven months and two weeks. Then in intensive outpatient therapy since then. When I got out of the hospital I had serious brain problems and have now regained most of what I lost so I am quite happy as you might imagine. I was deleted from THT. When I got THT to reopen my account I was gratified to see pages of posts from you.,..my friends. I can not tell you all how much that meant to me. Thank you all. Laird

Welcome back and it is nice to hear you are doing well!

Sorry if I missed the story, but what sent you to the hospital in the first place?

Default thanks friends.

Thank you for all the kind words and PM's sent. To answer some of the questions. I had a b
brain abscess. It was nearly fatal. I am very lucky put my wife through medical school. She called Bull@#$% on the first doc who was treating me. She got a neurosurgeon to look at me. The Neurosurgeon operated on me within hours of the first consultation and then again a few hours later. He took the top of my skull off and evacuated the blood clots he could. Then he put me in a medically induced coma. When I woke up 2 weeks later I began the long road to recovery. I have to say the Shepard Spinal Center on Atlanta is wonderful!! They really helped me regain basic living skills and helped me in my efforts to recover.

Amazing story.

Some recoveries have so much more than the medical community behind them.

So many folks just drop out from here and are never heard from again; so it is not unusual for someone to quit posting.

Glad you are back!

Welcome back, congrats on your recovery.

I died -flatlined- on the operating table as they prepped me for emergency surgery on '09 (Ruptured aneurysm of my abdominal aorta). I gotta say, all the people who said this stuff vvv afterwards messed me up more than anything else. They mean well but it doesn't help at all. Don't worry about a plan, or wonder why you were saved when others weren't. Just live and enjoy and smell the roses. The rest will take care of itself. Good luck man!

I'd rather have a good neurosurgeon around than a god.
