Default Destination Wedding Ideas Needed and the Engagement

So here's the rundown on Saturday guys. I had been working with Joey over at Lure'M In on a special lure for sometime and was finally ready to put it in the spread. Saturday was the big day and I was in foreign waters for sure. The girl friend had invited 2 other couples to have a little weekend getaway with us and the only problem was the 2 other females had never been fishing (important to remember this later on).

The girlfriend and I get down to N Myrtle Friday around mid day and get the boat in the water and go to check out the slip at Barefoot. Everything looks good. Her dad comes down to meet us to run grab a bite to eat at oifc and get some fuel (and he didn't know he was going to roped into helping clean the boat also). Get back to Barefoot at 5:45 or so clean the boat up a bit and wait for the other couples to get down after work to go eat at Hamburger Joes. All goes well 1 couple got lost, but eventually made in around 10. Set the plan for the morning and I compromised with a 7am departure with the guys heading down to the boat around 5:45.

Get up around 5:15 and get loaded up and head to the boat. Get everything unloaded onto the boat (looked like we were loading for a Bahamas run). Start doing some rigging and goofing off really just wasting time until the ladies decided to grace us with their presence. Well the girls finally make it to the boat with the Golden Arches for breakfast at 7:45. We eat as quick as possible and then one of the other females decided she wants to learn how to rig lures. Oh great now we're not going to be leaving til 9.

So instruct the girl friend to grab a lure so she can show how it's done. She starts unwinding the leader and there was a dang engagement ring attached to it!!! Who could have done that??? Oh and the lure said will you marry me.

Yes I planned the whole scenario out along with help from her friends and one amazing lure made by Joey. One of the best days of my life guys.

Oh and we actually did get to fish a little and caught 7 bluefish trolling the jetties at little river on BigNic candy lures and a clarkspoon on planers. We only fished about 1.5 hours then headed up to ProCo for lunch and back to oifc for more fuel then headed back to Barefoot to clean the boat and get ready for a great dinner at Greg Normans.

So now I need ideas on destination wedding locations where we can do some fishing. Tentatively we are planning on a New Years wedding. Would like to go somewhere that children are allowed (my sister is 17 and obviously we will want her there). So not really children, but I know some places don't allow anyone under 18 at all.

Thanks for any and all suggestions.

Thats awesome man, congratulations! We got engaged in good ole South Carolina as well, down at the battery in Charleston.

As for destination...not sure what you're looking for but we took our honeymoon in the Dominican Republic last year. Beautiful country, and incredibly cheap for an all-inclusive stay (as compared to other places in the Caribbean). Think the package was $2500 for 8 days for both of us, including airfare. And that is EVERYTHING. Spent maybe $100 while we were there on souvenirs/tips.

Conrats on the engagement.

I did something similar. I put an engagement ring on the rod, down to the second guide. It took about an hour for her to see it. She thought it was a joke. I told her that getting married is NO JOKE!
