Default Upstairs on a 747

Sitting in one of the 36 economy seats behind first class on a 747 with my daughter. Flight leaves in 25 minutes. Pretty cool up here. UK here we come.

I did this a while back but it was all business class upstairs. An hour into the flight the girl next to me had we feet - dyed her white socks blue. Looked up and there was the bathroom. Seems like it also leaked downstairs on the passengers below - they were pretty pissed.

Enjoy the trip - our UK rule was no more than one pint in any pub - way too may pubs around to get stuck in one for hours.

As many flight miles as I have, about 10 years flying 10-15 days a month, I never had the chance to fly I a 747. Always wanted to. Cool deal. How bought some selfies!

Have a great trip!

I have never heard of econ class upstairs on a 747. In fact, it was "Business Class" directly below "First Class" upstairs.

All said, I prefer the 777.

Ditto on the 777. Even coach class are decent seats.

Had one from ATL to LAX a few years ago and sat up top. Most airlines have retired them in favor of the 767, or similar. Riding up top was fun, though. We had the earlier version of the flat-bed seats, which were really just a heavy recline. Good times.

Have a great trip, we'll be about 6 weeks behind you!

...well, not entirely sure about the upper level of the 747 part, but...

How was it? I've always wanted to fly on a 747. I've flown upstairs on an A380 a few times which was nice. I'm flying one of the new AA 777s that have been updated on Sunday. They finally installed lay flat seats in business class but I hear they aren't 0 degrees.

Better brush up on your English. Lots of foreigners over there don't speak American.

It was pretty sweet. Got the bulkhead so plenty of leg room. Flight was out of NY not Orlando. Real quiet up there and great service. 2 attendees for 33 seats. Rented a car today and drive out to Stonehenge and Salisbury. On the Heathrow Express headed downtown right now.
