Default martial law

This may end up in the bilge but thought I'd ask

I can understand if martial law was declared the need for weapons to be seized, but why on earth take people's food and water?

If martial law is ever declared, it's time to decide what side you're fighting on.

So that the welfare cases can be given food and water. It is called redistribution of assets.

What the heck are you talking about. Why would anyone take your food or water.

Martial law is almost only ever used to respond to an enemy invasion or major catastrophe to restore order. Anything more extreme the words revolution or all out war would be used and martial law would be a moot point.

After Katrina, Martial law was declared in New Orleans and weapons were forcefully taken from law abiding citizens for no reason by LEO, not the National Guard.
Although I never heard of anyone having their food or water taken.
There was a book written about it. I believe it was called " The Great New Orleans Gun Grab "

When you have taken all you can stand, grab your rifle and go outside. If you do not see any one else it is too soon.

Good luck with them finding a gun of mine, good luck with them getting an answer at the front door. And God help them if they break in.

They were court ordered to return them but they didn't bother to keep any records of whom they took them from or where they were nor did they try and keep them in good shape. Few of them were ever returned. They took them from anyone they stopped and went house to house asking about them. Illegal order.
