I remember sending for the Daisey catalog and strategically placing it on top of the magazines in the bathroom closet (my fathers library), it worked!
Same trick didn't work a few years later when I put a Chevelle SS396 brochure there

Fun memories. Used to study those ads. Bought the X-ray specs and was so disappointed!

I wanted the Daisy BB gun, however, my parents (read-control freak mother) were overprotective liberals.
Thanks for the memories, the COFs like me really appreciated this post.
May I ask? Where did you find the ads?

Note: In some places in our country, a permit is required to buy a BB or pellet gun.......

I did not see the "Little David" sling shot. I ordered one and it was a condom stretched over a piece of aluminum tube and a handful of BBs.

Always wanted the X-ray glasses, never pulled the trigger though. Thanks for the memories.

How about baking powder subs and scuba divers.

I actually built one for science fair project. It worked, but could carry no wait. As soon as I sat on it, it hit the floor. But unmanned, she floated!

I ordered the ant farm & it was actually pretty neat, that is until my black ants died & I replaced them with the only ants I could readily find. That happened to be fire ants & resulted in multiple bites. Lost interest pretty fast after that.

I also ordered the toy soldiers & that was the biggest pile of crap ever. They were so cheaply made that they came in a box that one would never assume 20 toy soldiers would fit in, yet they were so thin that they were in-fact crammed in there.

Another one not mentioned here was the 7' Frankenstein poster. Ordered that & they simply never sent it. Scammed me out of a whole dollar which to a kid was not small stuff.
