Default BANANAS... who knows 'em??

admiral brought home a bunch that were full ripe yellow...and the had scotch tape on the butt end.

4 days later, there are two left, with remaining two freckled (of course).

NO fruit flies.

Is taping the butt end the way to prevent those pesky gnats that seem to come with bananas?

It slows down the ripening process by wrapping a piece of plastic/tape wrap around the crown/butt

As my sister famously (within my family of course) once said, "there is only one good day in the life of a banana".

Yep, that seems to be happening, but why no gnats? Do they lay eggs in the crowns right after cutting, so taping it keeps them interred? Neat trick!
