Default Man legally carrier AR-15 into airport

While I can see his point, and he was well within the law, not sure this is the attention he wants to garner for the pro 2A crowd.

The point is, the lefties are FREAKING OUT about this guy, but the folks carrying legally are not the ones we need to be worrying about.

Guy did the same thing here in PHX last year. Caused a stir, but no charges. He was picking up his son and had an AR slung over his shoulder.

Just because you CAN (legally) do something doesn't mean you SHOULD do it.

This sort of sums it up (Bill Montgomery is Maricopa County Attorney)

"For every right, there is a responsibility, and for those of us who not only have a duty to protect and safeguard the Second Amendment but also believe in its responsible exercise, he did absolutely nothing for responsible gun ownership," Montgomery said.

Congrats what he did was legal. He clearly did so much good today. I truly don't understand guys like this. I am pro gun ownership as can be, and am glad we have the right to carry. However I will never walk through a public place with an assault rifle because I can. Can anyone on here say that if a guy walked into a restaurant with an assault rifle or a shotgun you wouldn't freak out a little???

I'm not a gun owner...well, maybe an old Daisy Red Ryder sitting in my parents' basement somewhere...but I agree with this sentiment.

I have to disagree. George Zimmerman legally carries, and he is as stable as Nitroglycerin

Just because one can carry legally, doe snot anoint them to some sort of sainthood that they need no be worried about.

That guy is an aquaintance of a friend of mine. She says he is a total nut and posts on FB cheering every time a cop gets killed and does stuff like this just to get attention

I am as big a 2A supporter as there is but guys like this clown do more harm for our cause than good when they are "exercising" their rights.

That's the problem, whack jobs that like to carry around military weapons in public freak people out. I'm about as pro second amendment as they come but these folks freak me out. They're weird, I don't know anyone that would go walking around in public spaces with their AR15.

Those "freaked out lefties" that see people carrying around "machine guns" are going to vote for anyone who is anti gun and will get the crazies and their guns out of the mall, fast food joint or airport. If I was anti gun and wanted to get legislation passed, I would make sure I had a bunch of loons parading around with black ugly guns. The weirder the better.

I'd really freak out if it were a small Italian restaurant downtown. My a$$ would be on the floor so fast the cockroaches wouldn't have time to get out of the way. And yeah, I agree the guy was a butthead for doing this.

Maybe, but the statistics speak favorably for those carrying legally.

And if you've never thought about it, and you have decent experience shooting a gun, it's a whole different thing to actually consider "would I be able to shoot a human if I had to" versus "look how I tore up this paper target in a controlled environment".

A lot of folks decide NOT to carry because they're not comfortable with the thought that, should they have to use it, it may harm another. That's the kind of responsibility MOST legal carry folks consider.

But you have whacko leftist groups like "moms who demand gun sense" that post a story about every gun violence news story and seem to glaze over the fact that the stories usually surround some guy illegally possessing a gun who is also clearly mentally unstable. And then you get bandwagon folks who don't understand, and what they don't understand they fear.

What a powerful statement, and one I fully agree with. I am pro-2A, have an AR myself, but I question the man's thought processes when he gets made that they even approached him and asked questions.

Had they NOT done that and had he been a ala-snackbar sympathizer they would be lambasted.

The guy is an idiot.

Agree....if I saw someone doing that I would have two thoughts...either this is a rational law-abiding human being or its another Sandy Hook goober...

Totally legal, also, totally over the top. So what happens if a citizen tries to take him down and the guy shoots and kills him. All over trying to prove a point/make a statement?

Do not be fooled - whacko leftist groups LOVE people like the one in the story. All it does is allow them to use fear mongering to further their own agenda, said fear mongering created by none other than the so called pro 2A people like the guy in the story.

What's the legality of another CC holder shooting this guy as he's walking into the airport because they perceive a threat?
