Anybody else notice that Jay was not on the post show thing. They had a segment on the crews, Dave M had his son there with him, but Jay was absent. Just seemed strange.

i got that impression as well...
also after the last episode when they are back at the dock, even if it wasn't intentional DM was thanking his son and barely mentioned jay.
and then the post show jay isn't there.
All fathers are proud of their sons but i did feel a little bad for jay.

Who cares you guys are going wayy too deep into this. In the last minute of the show, Dave said his nephew was the best deck hand in the fleet and since they won, it's true. Seemed like alot of credit was given there. But dave sure can't forget about his son who brings the boat good luck.

If you chum, that's what you do....

Say what you will, but pinhead has beaten .com twice, and usually beats his mentor TJ. He is a bit of a whiny bitch, but the kid can fish!
Good to see Dave win, personally .Com can suck it, and I don't know how TJ keeps food on the table. (and that's a lot of food)

Drama was the worst by far but yes Bounty Hunter was awful

Anyone know what kind of boat Paul bought? Also surprised Dave didn't mention the new boat at all.

I got to talk to the Bounty Hunter guys at a show once. With a little prodding and wink-wink he admitted the number of fish caught was all scripted to create drama. This was a season they had him catch like 3 fish. He said he had 20 times that in the season, but it didn't work into the script already written. He didn't care because he was making a living and getting a little extra from the show. Very cool and down-to-earth guy to talk to. For what its worth.

I doubt that. You can tell by how excited they get when they actually hook a fish. Compared to the guys who shrug at a 85"

This was the best year the Boston guys had in ten years. Agreed that the show definitely played some scripting into it.

Hard to believe any of those guys are catching 60 fish in a season.

I remember the time the Bounty Hunter hooked and fought that supposedly 1000 pounder for several hours only to hit the line and break it at the boat throwing the dart from 20 feet away....

I felt bad for that old guy and thought the little dude fighting it was gonna throw him overboard

But I was rootin for Marciano all the way...

....yeah and I know it's scripted...but there's Tuna, and whales, and boats, and the ocean and harbors full of boats.....so who cares?

Now throw a couple of chicks on each boat.....and now we're talkin'....and not some skimpy southern belle....put some of those tattooed, cussin', bikini wearin', black-eye totin', beer drinkin', tooth missin', New England yankee beeches on them boats...that's what I'm talkin about...

Something makes me think that the script had a winner before the season even started.
Everybody plays thier part. Dave M is the everyman, Dave C is the bad guy,Tyler is your goofy nephew, TJ and crew are comedy relief, Paul is a bumbling fool who can't catch a break.

Not taking anything away from the fisherman. I understand that they work hard and good on them for making a living at it.. But if you want to be on TV, you have to play ball which includes scripted drama.
