Exclamation **HELSON GROUP BUY**...Here is some info. Do we want to do it?

I have done quite a bit of leg work on this and it doesn't seem like I am getting any better of a number than I have PM'ed you guys. I had really hoped they would sharpen their pencil just a bit more.

On top of that number, it seems there is roughly a 9.8% duty plus $1.53 per piece charge. On top of that, they would all get shipped to me which means there would be some shipping on on top of all of this from me to you.

It seems to me that after adding all of this in, and god forbid we have to add in some pay pal fees...we are back to the same number (or darn close) as just getting on their site individually and buying one.

If somebody on this site knows more about the duty from Hong Kong to the US, please let me know.

Jay

I would say that is not worth it........it's less than 10% off. Then you gotta deal with the hassle of making the order, boxing everyones watch, insurance, shipping......screw that.

Damn. Was hoping it would work out. Any other brands worth trying? Steinhart? Benarus? Sinn? Christopher Ward?

If y'all want to pick another brand, I am all for it. I don't mind doing the leg work if its gonna be worth it.

I am not quite sure in Hong Kong they understand the power of this HUGE MONSTROSITY of a forum. Kinda sucks, I was looking forward to having a Helson.

Yeah, watch is pretty awesome. But not worth the organization of orders required for about 5% off in the end.

not recommending more leg work, but another potential company with similar price point and similar style options is Deep Blue. They are a US based company and have grown a decent following pretty quickly . I don't own one so this is all heresay.

The Deep Blue watches are great looking. I'd be interested in that.

Chris Ward anyone?

Ordered my Helson direct. Duty Calculator website gave me an import figure of 4.2 % plus $1.53 charge. Watch was $350.00, fees of $16.23. Total of $366.23. Tracking says it'll be here on Wednesday, we'll see since I ordered on Sunday night.

I have a trip to asia coming up in the fall. I wonder if there is a duty free way to get them.

I believe thats half the duty of me bringing in a large order of them. I wonder if they can set up a THT discount code of some sort.

Not sure on the duty discount. Its coming by FedEx and I think they are the ones who collect it. So far my card has only been charged the purchase price.

What is so special about them? Direct from Hong Kong? what happens if you have a problem with it down the road, of course it only has a 1 year warrantee.

wow, I would love a Helson. Ive done a little bit of shipping the last few months and I have been told to avoid Fedex. We've been using China Post the last 2 years. They do lose stuff lol. I would be down for one of these group buys.

Like coores suggested, maybe deep blue?

Very similar watch, but a US company, may be easier to deal with...

I do know if I were the helson owner on here I'd have that sucker up in the classifieds right now based on demand.

I like the idea of Deep Blue mostly because it'd be nice to support a US company.
