Default PCB shootout ????

Sounds like the wild west in PCB last night, from reports I read it sounded like most were students at Alabama A&M and all college age

Right on Thomas Drive

These people just do not get it

News reports said the Town Council had an emergency meeting Saturday night to try and get this under control

Sounds like Myrtle Beach all over again

From what I've read, a lot of the problem comes from what they call " 100 milers" which are people that come to PCB but aren't even college kids. Often they are drug dealers and often are packing heat. Often they are minorities.

Supposedly, only 3 are college students.

At least three were critically injured: Kearria Freed, 20, who was shot in the head; Devanta Moore, 21, who was shot in the chest; and Henton Franklin, 22, who was shot in the side. Three others were listed in stable condition: Jacole Young, 22, who police said was shot in the back three times; Kelli Curry, 21, who was shot in the leg; and Tykeria Ethridge, 22, who was shot in the neck and shoulder.

A seventh victim — Anesia Powell, 20 — was shot in the left arm, chest, and knee, and was undergoing surgery Saturday. No condition was given.

Three of the victims — Freed, Curry and Powell — are students from Alabama A&M University in Panama City Beach for spring break, university spokesman Jerome Saintjones said.

Damn. Thought you were talking about Twelve Mile Creek and the PCBs from Sangano Weston flowing into Hartwell. Only someone local... gotta start seeing the big picture more.

They were all from Mobile, including the shooter. Since Gulf Shores eliminated the riff-raff they gather here. Thomas Drive is in Bay County, not within Panama City Beach technically. This happened Fri night, 100 at a 2br townhouse on Beach Dr

About as bad, PCB tractor ran over a guy on the beach at the Summit, driver saw the guy and thought he was trash.

We live a couple of miles from where the shooting happened. Didn't hear a thing until the next day. It's getting nuts down here this time of the year.

Nope, just a Tribal thug shooting those bullets. Spray and Pray isn't a normal way the maximize your hit ratio.

Of course, the powers that be are all huffing and puffing that we have to do "something" to stop those evil spring breakers.

Quick suggestion, show a valid college ID to get into PC and the problem is reduced by 75%. (of course that will not work)

Ft. Lauderdale and Daytona realized years ago that the spring break crowd is not worth the headache or bad reputation that comes with the annual ritual. They cracked down hard on the partying, noise and shenanigans and the crowds got the messages.

College kids bring nothing but trouble and destruction to the towns they party in. They have no substantial amount of money to spend and having to rebuild your town after they leave offsets any value in the event.

I know, I did spring break in Ft. Lauderdale back in the late 70's and I had about 12 bucks in my pocket!
The crap that we did to those poor hotels makes me cringe. It was fun though and great memories

Not being racist, but it is generally not the white college kids that are the problem. The white college kids get drunk, fall off balconies, pass out in the streets and stuff like that. It is the criminal element that comes to town to take advantage of the influx of white college kids that cause the problems.

Now, you want to talk about a bad, disrespectful crowd (to both business owners and residents) is the Black College Reunion or whatever BS they go by now. They are nothing but trouble.

I'm not going to comment on the race thing, but I do agree with your sentiment. IMO the actual college kids are young and dumb and all just trying to get drunk and laid. However, they aren't purposely trying to do anything criminal as once the week/weekend is over they want to get back to school, graduate and have a future ahead of them.

Then there are the 20 somethings that don't have a future, and are just causing trouble, up to no good, and don't care if they go back to jail again. While my town isn't a spring break destination, it is a college town, and I often notice this split on the weekends downtown.

I thought pc tried to shut it down a few years back and all the local businesses complained like crazy and they went full bore again. When I was in high school everyone went to pc, this is in the late eighties and early nineties, bc you could drink on the beach and cops did not care.

I went to college near Daytona, better have it in a big gulp or they would get you. Pc we had kegs on the beach and cops never carded anyone, just bars
