That's wonderful- it really is!

Somebody with the stature of the Pope takes a pizza handed to him by a random individual along a parade route. Based on what I've heard about this Pope, I expect he genuinely appreciated the gift and sampled it shortly thereafter.

There is a bit of history at play here.

The first Pizza called Pizza Margherita was invented in Naples for the visit of Queen Margherita 1889.

Because the Pope is now the closest thing to Royalty for the Italians he accepted it...

Very very funny stuff.

Patza means crazy, so yes that was a crazy thing to do and the guy is lucky he did not end up tazed.
