Default F250 vs Pontiac Vibe, guess the Winner

here is the ford, little brothers truck, got hit by a guy that ran a redlight at an intersection going about 40mph, saw him coming and hit the gas, wasn't quite quick enough. just crumpled the back quarter a little, and put a nasty crimp in the exaust, which was quickly taken care of with the sawzall, didn't want to creat too much restriction and get the turbo overheated. Looks like the insurance company might get to foot the bill for new exaust at the time of the body work.

Unfortunately the vibe had already been hauled off when I got there, so I didn't get any pics, I heard it got mangled badly though, likely totaled.

Man, that sucks. Sounds like it could have been worse though. Glad he is ok.

just talked to my brother, body guy says 2700 to fix it, needs:

new bumper

new exaust (think freebie performance exaust system)

new bed side + graphics

new rino liner possibly, if so going to add gooseneck hitch at the same time.

it's no big deal at all, stuff happens, the lady in the car was legally blind, her husband was driving, all were fine but a little shook up, they were all worried that my brother was going to sue them or something, once they found out that my grandparents were good friends with her parents all was well. I was really surprised that my brother maintained his temper, he is very protective of his truck (hard to tell considering how dirty it is) but he didn't seem to be bothered a bit, did drop a few choice words fighting with the sawzall on the exaust, but other than that all is well.

Auto, just think if your lil'bro had stole your boat and was in that same scene.
Now that would be a bummer.

Thank GOD no body was hurt and we can fix the truck.

OOPS~!!

Guess this is where we go back to the thread about elderly people needing to take driving tests...

Glad everyone is OK!

And hey - always kinda nice to have an "excuse" to do some modifications to the truck.

If indeed the Vibe was close to a wreck - even though the energy of the crash isn't obviously showing on the truck that energy has to have gone somewhere. ??? Yes one could say that energy was taken up by the Vibe, but lets face it, the skirt on that quarter panel offers close to zero resistance. If that truck was "my" truck I'd strongly request to have the truck put on a rack to check the frame's alignment, the rear axle's alignment and have the wheel remove and checked for trueness.
