Ahh, good form, but your attempt to lord over me through your perceived self worth is wasted on me and most others. I know you have high esteem for yourself, and that is the hallmark of the liberal puke. I am not intellectually intimidated by you, as few are, but rather ashamed that i defended people like you. If your quality of life was a few notches below where it is, you might have a different perspective. Trust me, your not worth getting angry about. Im 70 and have lived through more wars and conflict than you can imagine. I wouldnt waste my energy on being angry with a fool.

O no not NY ! $10,000 a year on that little 3 bedroom or the state moves you out.

The NY police state sucks especially Long Island. The epicenter of it all.

the problem is that law enforcement is trying their hardest to enforce...you guessed it...the laws! How dare they keep us from doing things that are against the law? they have the technology to more effectively catch us when we do bad shit and it's just WRONG that they utilize said technology. I want to keep running red lights with no repurcussion!!

Doesn't that sort of infer that anyone who isn't a liberal has low self-esteem?

I feel good about myself therefore I'm a liberal puke? that's gotta be one of the most absurd arguments I've heard from either side of the aisle.

so are you upset because the "police state" is watching every move with their prolific use of cameras or are you upset because an unintended side effect of those cameras has created a safety hazard? Because those are two entirely different arguments.

And ya its wrong putting up cameras all over like the Orwellian nightmare.

There will never be that crime free utopia they sell because "they" become the criminals.

I don't know that we're facing a police state. Perhaps it's more properly called a nanny state, enforced by the police. The police don't make the rules; they simply enforce them. Having said that, the police are smart and know they can stop me at 10pm one evening because one of my headlights was out. We had a nice conversation and I went on my way after thanking the policeman because I didn't realize my headlight was out. But, had I looked suspicious, acted inappropriately, or the policeman was a jerk, the stop could have turned into an unreasonable search and seizure allowed because of some fabricated probable cause. My further movement could have been impeded, and I think that's the type of thing the OP is writing about. I could go on and on about other restrictions; some have mentioned the second amendment, for example, but I get tired of explaining myself to liberals and/or sheep whom would argue it's not raining while standing in a deluge.

They removed the cameras here. Too many people contesting the tickets. It cost them more to adjudicate the contested tickets vs the revenue they were supposed to generate.

Depends on where you live. Some places are far worse than others. We are still free to move about the country as we see fit to our individual needs. Where I live is awful, don't even consider it - its just a chithole. Stay away!!!

Will this trend ever reverse or level off ?
We are not a police state. You will probably know when a offensive police state is in place when police walk off the job and stand with their neighbors

This is unforgivable.

The taxpayers paid for you to protect them. That was your job. Whether you needed the money or not does not matter. I am not sure if you worked for free as, from you car collection, we can all tell that you are wealthy, but if you did take pay, then give it back or keep quiet.

Nothing irks me more than a puffed up chest declaring they defended the freedoms and rights of an unseen and unknown American. You did your job and were compensated for it. The Americans you "defended" did their job by paying the taxes to pay for you to do the job you were tasked to do. Neither more important than the other.

How dare you ask them to pay the taxes that provide you with the resources to do your job and then question the very manner in which those resources are provided.

You were a government employee. Show some respect.
