Default Worker's Comp bull****

I tell ya, the American worker is supposed to be supported and protected by the WCC in each state. I call bullsh*t. My blood clot in my leg resulted from driving soooooo much for my job but the ARWCC said that it could have come from me sitting on a couch watching TV. Before this DVT, I never sat that long on a couch. I was out hiking and walking and being active on the weekends when I was at home instead of driving. It's a money making racket pure and simple. Just another way to fleece American businesses. I'm and very unstable at this point. I just might be living my last November in Arkansas. Next year I'll be a Texan again.

Sorry for the rant, I can't help it.

I really does suck because I sit in my crampy F150 company truck more than I sit anywhere else. The next closest place is the throne. I just cannot see why I didn't get covered. It's not fair but again...who said life is fair. I'm sorry to be belly-achin' over this because I know there are others in worse situations. I can still see, hear, walk, talk, and carry out normal bodily functions so what's the fuss? I'm just venting...don't take me too personal.

I just feel like I've been by the man.

The good thing is I'm going to TEXAS this weekend to take our boat on its maiden voyage in Matagorda. Well not necessarily a voyage...more like a short excursion to start the break in process. Anyway, it'll be ok and I'll get through it like normal. Thanks for putting up with me.

You know I thought about getting a dip. But it was just a thought. I've been through too much to go back to that stuff. I like my freedom.

Thanks

DON'T do the DIP.

All you would be doing is MAINLINING the nicotine, straight into your body. WORSE THAN SMOKING.

Curse, pitch a fit, throw something, but don't hit the nicotine products, believe me it's a slippery slope.

Ain't gonna do it. The two captain's club wheels are my reminder that THT helped me quit on my own accord. I'll never forget that.

There are lawyers who specialise in that sort of stuff. You'll probabloy have to pay 1/2 but just having a good attorney will scare a settlement out of them.

Good luck!

Is the ARWCC like the NC Industrial Commission? The reason I ask is that a lot of times the insurance companies will get blamed when they aren't the ones deciding. In NC at least, a company makes what they believe to be a correct determination but then it has to go through the Industrial Commission for approval. Have you gone to the next step in the appeals process? Just curious.

I agree that its bullsh--..... Personally know more than I'd like that have developed work related health problems "after" they were layed off. Collected WCC, then even after getting free surgery that wasn't needed, started recieving SS Disability immediately, even tho the surgery made them "whole". They all did have lawyers tho. Seems to be one of those things, kinda like court, that forces you to hire/pay a lawyer. Yep, an unfair racket!!!!!!!!!!!

I think I'm over my rant. With my newly thinned blood, stressing over this BS only increases my heart rate and makes me feel bad. I'm just not going to worry about it anymore...it's bad for me. It can only make me stronger and meaner...which is really a good thing in disguise. Plus it will strengthen my resolve to the get my lilly white a$$ back to Texas.

Thanks for the replies, everyone take care and havagoodun.

Not sure about other states but in NJ, when you hire a lawyer for workmans comp, you dont pay anything out of pocket. Ther are set fees paid to the attorney at the time of settlement. It is similar to a lawsuit but I believe the percentages are quite lower.

I think the reason these types of claims get such scrutiny is the amount of
fraud that occurs with WC claims. I'M NOT ACCUSUSING ANYONE OF ANYTHING!!!

Here in Mass. I've heard WC refered to as "White Man's Welfare" by a lot of
people. I've known at least two who been injured off the job, or due their own
poor lifestyle choices, and manage to file and get claims paid by engaging the proper
attorney. Their attitude is that the "Ins. Co. is paying, and they're all crooks anyway, so
it's OK for me to commit fraud". It's just sad how some peoples sense of right and wrong can
be so easily dicarded when there's a few dollars involved.

I don't feel bad anymore about having to grab my ankles due to the money making racket we like to call worker's comp. Being screwed by the system has only strengthend my resolve and increased my yearning to return to Texas...where I belong. I'm not saying that the system in Texas is any better, it's just that I feel better when I'm there, my boat is there, and I go fishing there. To me it's paradise. It's been a good run in Arkansas but it's time for a change. This is likely to be my last November here.
