Default Put these cars in order of best to worst

My wife is due for a new car, we've narrowed the search down to the following, we may need to go smaller as she isn't comfortable with some of the larger (small) cars.

Toyota Corolla
Ford Fusion
Subaru Impreza
Subaru Legacy
Nissan Altima

Whatever model she goes with it will need to be fully loaded, she enjoys the options like rearview camera/monitor, heated mirrors, rear heat and A/C vents, quality sound system etc. So far she's looking at only 4 door cars under 30K better would be 25K.

If you have another model that you think would fit the bill, post away, but we won't be going with Lexus, Infinity type cars as they are glorified Toyota's and Nissans IMO.

Nothing German as repairs are too expensive.

Can't go wrong with any of them but I'd lean toward the Nissan or one of the Subari. If it snows where you live than its a no brainer for a Subaru.

Legacy
Impreza
Corolla
Altima
Ford

The subarus aren't known for their bells and whistles (they're known for reliability and longevity), and I believe they just revamped the corolla for this year. The Altima got a recent facelift too I think.

I don't drive American cars in general so know next to nothing about the ford. Though I think I rented a focus a while ago and thought it was a well laid out cockpit for a small car.

I'd chose a Camry over the Corolla. Still small enough and you can get pretty loaded for your budget. But overall I like your list as it is. I might slip the Nissan up a notch or two and above the Subaru's

Fusion. I have one of the plug-in Hybrids and I am really impressed.

From your list, Subaru Legacy #1. But, like said above, consider Toyota Camry or Honda Accord. All have very good reliability records.

Fusion. My Dad has the new Fusion (loaded hybrid) and it's sweet.

Camry. Only based on reputation.

Tie - Corolla. My daughter has the 2014 S and it's a neat little car with a lot of gadgets etc. It's still a Corolla though, not very fun to drive. It'll go forever though.

Tie - Altima. I have a newer Altima for dd and it's been a great car and it's ridden hard. That being said, it's pretty blah. I like where Altimas fit size-wise.

Subaru. I'm not a Subaru type.

All pretty good choices. Let her drive all of them and pick the one that she likes the best. The Toyota's and Subaru's traditionally have the best re-sell value, but if you will be keeping the car for a while go for what she likes the best. I'm with a few other suggestions, if the Camry/Accord doesn't feel to big check them out. The ride is much better than a corolla or civic.

My wife has ruled out the Camry and Honda's, she thinks they are too square (don't ask me). I didn't list the selections in any particular order of like/dislike. I personally think the Fusion might be too big a ride for her, (she just likes small) so the Impreza is what I'm leaning towards for her.

As a long shot were going to look at the Mazda 6 as well, we rented one a year ago and she loved it, even though she didn't drive it. I think it will be too big for her (why she didn't drive it when we rented it), but she wants to look anyway.

we keep our cars 10 years or more.

They're all good options really. Naturally the Subies get a nod for AWD if that is preferred.

My gf wants to get a new Corolla S. The new ones are neat little cars. I previously never liked the Corolla in the small car segment.

I would also look at the Mazda6. Probably my favorite car in that midsize segment. A coworker of mine has a 2015 Grand Touring model and it's really nice and drives well and she got it for under 30k. Even the new Chrysler 200 is really nice.

Since there are no GM choices I say Ford because I only buy American car brands. I have never owned the others so I have no opinion.

Impreza has a great reliability record, too.

M6 is one of the best looking cars on the road imho. Have had two later model Mazdas and they are (more) fun to drive too.

You have them in the correct order already. To me its a toss up on the ford and subarus though.
