Going to New York on Friday for a meeting. I don't fly back until Saturday morning need a recommendation on something to do Friday night dinner etc. Staying at Waldorf Astoria if that helps.

THT answer depends on 2 things. 1 Your marital status. 2 Picture of wife if married. If answer to #1 is single then picture of GF will do.

Joke, but much closer to the truth now that DB is in charge...sad.

To the OP, might as well tell us what kind of food you want. This will help us narrow it down as there are too many awesome places to eat and drink.

Safe travels

You are walkable to Broadway, Times Square, and Grand Central.

>>Got snowed in once. This place is about 5 blocks away. There was not much else open. Had a little child at the time adn they had a very limited menu due to the third day of snow. They found something form my 4 yr. old to eat taht she like. I am loyal to them.
On top of that. It's good and reasonable.

Have fun.

Will try to answer all questions with this

Married (will find a pic of wife and post)
Will pretty much eat what ever just looking for something good
Will be eating by myself so sitting at bar is perfect
Not really any budget company is paying for but I own the company so I am paying for it
Looking for some where to eat and then go afterward for a few beers

Are you looking to stay near the hotel or move around a bit? Most of my college buddies live in Manhattan and are always going out. I can ask them their favorite spots. They're all late 20's early 30's so the places will typically be that kind of crowd

Early 30's here so that type of scene would work

Not sure of the distance for you but;

Always our favorite when in NYC. That and some little Irish pub 2 blocks from the Hilton on Ave of Americas. Can't remember the name, just know how to find it. Best Shepard's Pie!!!

For beers - Just ask the doorman, he'll know good beer places.

Vodka (I know, not a beer place) - Pravda

PDT if you want a speak easy and like mixologist/good bartenders
- http://www.yelp.com/biz/please-dont-tell-new-york-2

Campbell Apt in Grand Central is a bit unique

If you want more of a scene (things to look at, food is good and will have plenty of alcohol choices).
- Beauty and Essex, no shortage of scenery and just walk through storefront, door in back of store, and make a right to go upstairs...always enjoyable

Enjoy
