Default Life Changing Decision. Need Your Help.

Need some advice on what could be a life changing decision.

I've suspected for some time now that my g/f has been cheating on me. The usual signs. Phone rings, I answer, someone hangs up. She started going out 'with the girls' a lot recently although when I ask which girls it is always "Just some friends from work, you don't know them".

I always look out for her ride coming home but she always walks from around the corner, I can usually hear a car driving off as she walks towards our house. If it really is a friend why not just get dropped off in front? I once picked her cell phone up just to see what time it was and she went berserk and screamed that I should never touch her phone again, and why was I checking up on her.

Anyway, I have never approached the subject with my g/f. I think deep down, I just didn't want to know the truth but last night she went out again and I decided to check on her. I decided I was going to hide behind my boat, which would give me a view of the whole street so I could see which car she was getting out of. Well, it was a while that I was crouched behind my boat and I noticed my prop was all chewed up.

Should I buy a replacement, or should I just take the chance and try to get it fixed? It’s a big decision so I thought I would ask for your advice. What do you think?

I'm not one that likes used and damaged goods - replace her.
But at least get a spare so "you" have something to fall back on. Hell, get two and show her who's really the boss!

Know the feeling Jerry-Rigged. My best friend and fishing buddy stole my first wife. I sure do miss him.

I would re-work the original.....and keep it as a spare in a dark closet, hatch, the problem with re-working the orginal, is like a boob job, it looks great from the outside but you are now concerned that the hub has the same internals as it had when you bought it new....so its probably time to replace it anyway and put the old one into back-up status

......and then go out and splurge on that new shiny model with all the updates.......on a personal note I too had the pleasure of replacing the old model (had it re-worked and stored) and got the new one....I am throughly impressed with the performane of the new unit........

Could always get a composite prop and just switch out the bad blade. That way you keep the prop but can make improvements and tweak it until it's exactly how you want it. Sometimes it's easier to make improvements with what you have rather than starting all over again. Just imagine you spend all that money on a new prop and it doesn't fit on the shaft. I'd be bummed.

......... or you could get yourself a couple of cheap oars and a fifth of JD and toss that ol' nag of a prop to the curb. Best thing about the oars is that you have no cavitation power loss in reverse so they will work the same for you in forward and reverse. And they are completely silent.

I would get a shiny new that is well cupped then due the install myself and make sure it's tight, that way I could romp it hard right from the get go.

I think thats as good a reason as any to buy a new boat. Get yourself a bow bunny and stern slut to match and not have to worry about damaged goods being on your shaft.

Maybe your g/f's boyfriend is a boater. I'm sure he would drop the relationship with her if you would confide in him and ask for his advice. Any boater would rather have another boating friend then a girlfriend!

Wait, I think I am confussed.;?

Your girl friend is chewed up and you want a shiney one. Can't you just have her polished and rebushinged?

And what's the deal with the cell phone?

Originalsin's advice "you could get yourself a couple of cheap oars" is probably best

really, just get the old "screw" "re-tooled"...
