Jerry Garcia did enough drugs that his body completely mummified when he died. They just wheel him out on a hand cart and prop him up, put a guitar in his hands, and the audience is so stoned that nobody even knows the difference.

Still though, enjoy. What a long strange trip it's been!

I will be there all 3 days. Wouldn't miss it.

Who would have thought we'd get to partake in the old mail-order ticket routine. Already started to work on my envelopes. Get em postmarked on 1/20 yahoooooooooo. Can't wait. Going to be exciting to see folks you haven't seen for years. Can't believe a lot of the older rats are going to miss this one.

Excited doesn't even begin to describe it for me.

Yeah, and I bet you are going to say Hendrix is dead too.

Funny, you ask! I saw him on my job today! There is a core driller that has worked in the DC area for 30 years. Looks JUST LIKE Jimi! He came out of one of the office buildings and the guy who was with me looked him and I said, "You know who that is, right?" He got this puzzled look on his face and said, "No, who??"

"Thats Jimi Hendrix."

He busted out laughing and said, "Damn, your right!!"

I was at the last show before Jerry died. Saw a number of them and enjoyed all incarnations of them afterward. The low point for me was seeing Dylan with them in Florida, Willie would have been such a better show!

My son is a "Dead" fan and follows BLACK Star Orchestra.

I was never a fan of the Dead - guess it was an "I was too old." thing? But then, I've never been into the more "mellow" types of music.

There's a guy that works at our local Lowe's - I'm CERTAIN it's Garcia (or damn close).

Regards,

Side Note: When the Dead came to Vegas, I would volunteer to work those days.
The "experience" that rolled through those ER doors could not be bought........

I always said, Jerry Garcia would be good if, he could write a song, sing and play the guitar, which he couldn't

I just mailed money for tickets for my son and 3 of his friends this morning - $114 or so EACH for a 3-day ticket, I think?

And NO, I didn't pay for it - only dropped it off at the post office for him.

My son knows Trey Anastasio (from "Phish") and Bruce Hornsby is a Williamsburg, VA native.

Regards,
