Default Does Amazon weed out any junk products?

some of their products seem to have a high percentage of low ratings (maybe unhappy people post more than happy people)
do they screen out any junk? one product 117 5 stars (excellent) ratings
with 45 terribles (1) and 26 poors (2)

I am not certain they do....it is up to the buyer to screen it out themselves. What you do have to be careful of is junky a$$ sellers.

Whatever the case I like Amazon, but they are not always cheapest.

I don't think so. I just bought some ram for my computer, it was supposed to be new & unused. I received 2 unmatched sticks that had been re-packaged and did not work!

The good part about Amazon is they have excellent return policies. I sent it back and got my $ back.

That being said, I shouldn't have to go thru the hassle. They need to do a better job policing their vendors.

One last thing, I'm a Prime member and do like Amazon, most of my purchase experiences have been very good.

I think if they get enough complaints they will suspend selling that item until they determine its fate. I have seen this a few times with items.

I never buy anything without reading all the reviews.

And of all the reviews, I want to read the 1's and 2's more then the 4's and 5's.

No. There's been counter-fit stuff peddled as the real thing on Amazon. I think if you complain they will address it though.

Similar experience here. In my case, I ordered some sewing machine needles for the wife. What I got was a sewing machine needle package with no needles in it. Amazon refunded my money. I re-ordered the needles and saw that Amazon was now using a different vendor, who fulfilled the order correctly.
