Default Whiny Disney guests?

The big story on the news is that Disney had to close the gates for a while at Disneyland and the Magic Kingdom at Disney World because the parks were full up. Oh, the humanity!!! People, of course, were commenting about corporate greed, incompetence, etc etc. I guess they are too old to remember when that use to happen quite frequently. The first time that I went to Disney Wrold was two weeks after it opened in 1971. Our church youth group let Miami VERY early on Saturday morning. The idea was to hit Disney at about 10:30 and then spend a half day Sunday at a local church camp before heading back. No joy. The place was full up by 9 AM., so we had to come back early Sunday morning. The next time I went with my family and every time we went back after that, we made sure NOT to go on super busy days and to make sure we got there early. We also learned to take the ferry and not the monorail going in because the lines were horrible. This kind of thing happens very time they open a new park, new big ride or on BUSY DAYS LIKE CHRISTMAS. I would think these would be common knowledge and on every travel website or blog after 60 years of thee parks being around, but I guess not.

Remember, although history ALWAYS repeats itself, there are not many who listen!

In the 70s, it cost less than $10 per person to go to Disney. I had a shoe box full of those old A through F tickets for years and years.

True, but you could also buy a new car for $2500, right? Also remember that you had to buy this ticket booklets to ride any rides and a kid my age had no interest in the A and many of the B ticket kiddie rides so they were a waste. . The Best time was in the late 70's an barely 80's when they went to passports for everyone and they never expired....well they didn't expire until they were ready to open up Hollywood Studios and you showed up only to find that your tickets were no longer good. That is the only real complaint that I have had about the Disney parks in all thee years. As much as we may bitch about the price, every else is the same and that $100 or so is in the range of the cost of any premium entreatment activity. What does a half decent seat at an NFL game cost? How about a seat somewhere below the 5th level or the parking lot for a big name concert? i realized that when they tickets were in the $65-70 range and they were the same as a decent seat for a Bucs game at RayJay, which, at the time, was one of the most reasonable priced ballparks in the NFL. Same with decent down low or club for big concerts at the Arena Formerly Known As The Ice Palace. or the Axe Gary Amphitheater.
