For the Wife:

1. Get a box.
2. Cut a hole in the box...

My kids are older - 20's... but I grab the little mind game teasers from the dollar store as filler, plus the typical candy stuff that I know they like... I usually include a note or a card from Dad, telling them how proud I am of them, etc.. Once in a while I will find the small old hand held retro video games, like football.. I throw those in there as well. They don't last but maybe a year and I have been asked a lot of times over the years if I can get them another one... its a way to kill time since both are military.

For the wife... I got really lucky, she isn't a fan of jewelry, doesn't like diamonds... I get away with small things, like a nice book mark or a small seashell I found and polished up, something dolphin related or ocean related that I find in a knickknack store...

We've always had our own family traditions, beer and cheese for santa vs the cookies and milk... they loved it growing up and still always ask if I have the beer and cheese out. I have been known to order blocks of good cheese and sausage for the kids as well... we always had our game day snacks and they make good stuffers as well

I only do this for Christmas, but I will get her $25-50 in lotto scratchers since she enjoys that. In the time that we have had a state education lottery, we have maybe won a total of $3. Maybe this year will be her year!!!

The silver coins are a good idea as well, my in-laws always gave the boys the newly minted coin sets.. they still have them stashed away for the time when they have their own homes. Never know what they might really be worth.

I get stuff from thestockingstufferstore.ca most every year. Its from Canada, so you're too late this year. Cool stuff, not your average junk. Well, some of it is.

Daughter likes bath and body works stuff, son is getting some golf gloves, tees, and other odds and ends. Every year the wife gets a new unique christmas ornament in hers with the year on it. This year she dropped one of her favorites from years ago putting up the tree. It took me a couple weeks but I finally found one on eBay so she is getting that one also this year. Giradelli pepermint chocolate squares in all the stockings.

Just a suggestion..

If you switch that order, when the wife finds out, she may not be so pissed! And YES! she will find out!

I picked up some of these grips today for her SW. I'm putting them in her stocking.
