Default Homeland Showtime series

Any fans here? Haven't seen a thread so I thought I would start one.

Loved the first 2 seasons then season 3 got a bit far fetched and this season was a bit slow until last nights episode... wow! They going to kill off Saul? Edge of seat viewing, like the first two seasons.

To those in the know, how close to reality is the CIA station situation room? The drones, the instant tracking of cellphones, drone strikes, etc.

I watched and enjoyed the series when Sargent Brody was the focus, I loss some interest when they killed Brody.
However the 11/16/14 episode was fun and interesting to watch, the acting is upper echelon, the Woman playing the Indian intelligence officer is great, her facial expressions are spot-on.

I like this season a lot so far. The Brody storyline could only go so far, and they took it too long in my opinion. The new storyline being set up now is amazing.

Last night's episode was the best in the last 2 years. I hope they keep it going like last night.

I thought Saul was going to pull that trigger. Wow, that episode was intense. I was getting pissed because he is probably my favorite character.

I was watching the prior episode and had to pause it to collect my thoughts when Brody showed up on screen. It was the first time in a while that I uncontrollably said out loud, "What the F...".

I too would like to know how much of the capabilities of the CIA in Homeland is true to form. It makes good TV for sure.

This season has been awesome. Last 3 episodes have been intense and next week looks just as good. It's the best show on TV.

I didn't yet see the 11/16/14 episode, but have been watching it since season 1/episod 1 and follow it faithfully. Comments by some of the posters about past episodes and seasons are accurate, but I still enjoy the series.

I am a big fan. Love the show. Last Sunday's episode was good. The ambassador's douche bag husband will get a wake up call on the next episode.

Wife is addicted to that show... me... not so much, but I must confess that last episode (the one that Saul escape and get re-captured)I was FORCED to watch and I plan to watch some more, with the only hope that that biotch Carrie gets capture, tortured... I cant stand that bipolar snake specially after she betrayed Saul.

Ehhhhh. Not sure you got that one. She did what she was ordered to do by the President, and her boss. Keel Saul alive. Rescue him if possible, otherwise do whatever necessary. Exactly what she did.

Was she supposed to bomb a village filled with innocents, and cause a massive international incident just because it was convenient to Saul? Given she could have let him pull the trigger, but she had orders.

I am sure in the real world they would have vaporized the head terrorist along with Saul when they had the chance the first time. You can't have the former head of the CIA, with all of his knowledge of ops and agents, in the hands of the enemy.

Push the button and rid the world of the extremists at all costs.

My problem with this season is trying to get to like any of the characters. They all seem very cold hearted this season although Quinn is becoming a favorite, hopefully they will give him some more action in the upcoming shows.

I think part of the point is that they are not necessarily supposed to be likeable. They are conflicted people who have to make awful decisions regarding the lives of others. Some can't handle it psychologically (Carrie, Quinn), others can too easily and brush it off (New CIA director).

Don't forget Quinn (Rupert Friend) was brought in the mix by Dar Adal ( F Murry Abraham) and was a cold consciences less assassin. his character as changed quite a bit since he got the hots for Carrie.

I don't really understand how they got a key to her apartment at the station. Seems a little far-fetched to me. However, I agree, that slimy professor has got to go. Might be a little hard for Carrie to do that, cuddled up in the arms of one of the bad guys, but it will probably work, if she ever gets her good medicine back. Being bi-polar is what make this show work, how she overcomes her demons to do what she does, sometimes not very well, but she is damaged. My wife doesn't like the show, but I enjoy it.

Agree the Brody story line was a dead end and glad they moved on. But I wish they would not have abandoned the story of plugging Jarvadi as an asset into Iranian intelligence last season. Seemed that plot had a long way to go, and they started the new season without any reference to it at all.

X 2 +

and this was a shocker: " and Haqqani surprised them even more when he shot his own nephew. "

I still like the show, but don't forget that Carrie abandoned her kid with the excuse "she has no choice because my job has sent me back overseas". Everyone has a choice.

Not forgotten at all. That is the 'excuse' but the reality seems to be she fears she can not be an acceptable parent, which is likely accurate, but can't admit to expressing that.
