Again, nobody here will ever know the true story. The two parties and the mods, that's it. People here are spouting off that he should've been warned first and that he should've been spoken to about his behavior and blah blah blah, but how do you know for a fact that he wasn't? The one and only time that I got a warning, it was between me and the mod. Not a single other person ever knew about it unless I said it. Once you get enough strikes or "infraction points", then things escalate from there. We operate the same way at my job. There's a ladder of increasing disciplinary actions each time someone breaks the rules. That type of discipline is quite common and is really no different here on THT.

Don't break the rules, don't act like a douche, and things should be fine. Like I've already said, it is VERY rare that someone who gets into serious trouble is 100% innocent. VERY RARE.
Agreed

Enough with your facts and logic. We need more emotion. I mean he was such a good sponser He would never do anything to get banned. Then the Mods banned him in cold blood. Will will miss BOE for the next 30 days. Why did the mods do this? He was such a good sponser.

Sure, people complain about mods all the time. But why has this whole poor moderation just recently started?

Moderation has been uneven, selective, personal, lots of bans, general snarkiness.

Member since 2004, have enjoyed it and learned a lot. Rethinking all of that, would hate to see it go. THT has been good to me. My first chartplotter came from BOE.

The mods have always warned me about when I was pushing the limits. They have also been pretty helpful when I needed them to be.

Aside from everything else - I've got nothing.

Those two guys have been circling each other and gnashing their teeth for several years now. One is brick and mortar, the other isn't --- that right there is a pebble in the shoe of commerce

I had Jim openly complain several years ago on the phone when I was making a purchase. I decided to help them both when I needed something because they both contribute to this Forum

However, After seeing the other guy blatantly trumpeting the "savings" one would have buying from him instead of BOE in an advertisement he placed on a public forum, Jim gets my calls from now on

Truth is, I think that advertisement rubbing a brick and mortar guy's face in pricing differentials from A guy who's only investment is his keyboard should have gotten him banned!

WTF--- way more offensive then some junk in a box vid.

As late summer transitions to fall transitions to winter - so do the complaints about the moderators. Follws the Northeast boating season like clock work

Maybe the mods live in the NE and they too are getting bored.

I'm giving it the requisite amount of time out of respect for the relationship.

I already have a helluva story.

Not on vBulletin forums, Admins can read all PM's sent, if they choose to.

I do not believe that to be the case on THT.

I have conversed with a mod on here on a couple different occasions regarding this subject and he stated they are unable to read PM's on this site. I have no reason to doubt what he told me.
