Default The, "Official", Craigslist Add Thread, for entertainment

If it will bring a smile to your day, share it here.
Could be the item(s) for sale, the seller or the add itself.

You may want to copy the add itself due to they expire over time.

(No disrespect intended to any craigslist advertiser)

.
For starters.

"Was originally a nice dresser with normal wear and tear. Put it on Craigslist for free. These two nutjobs came stole the mirror and all the knobs/mirror attachments. Dragged the dresser out of the house and against the CONCRETE sidewalk. They got into a domestic altercation in the middle of the street, caused a huge scene then left the dresser in the street.

Needless to say, IT IS COMPLETELY DAMAGED. It went from normal wear and tear to disaster in 20 minutes.

Because it is hard wood it can be refinished if you are handy or good with woodworking. The knobs and the mirror can be replaced. But there's nothing I can do with it now, except give it to someone who can refurbish it or take it to the city dump. The image included was how it looked PRIOR to the incident.

If you still want it YOU WILL NEED SOMEONE TO HELP YOU MOVE IT, as it is now in the basement. Please be prepared to retrieve it EARLY in the morning, before 7 am."

That reminds me of a similar story.

Took place in the days before Craigslist. While in my Freshman year at college, some of my dorm buddies and I were bored one evening. We picked up one of the local newspapers and found an ad from some girl at a nearby dorm selling a pink rug. She was asking $25 or so. We had several people on the hall call her up to buy the carpet. Ended up turning into a bidding war, and we got the price jacked up to $300 by offering more each time. Finally got two different "buyers" to go to her dorm to pick up the rug. They got in a fight in her dorm room over a $300 pink carpet.

I was trying to get rid of a couch in a rental home. City wanted $45 to haul it off, I had already dragged it out front, as soon as I got off the phone someone knocked on the door and offered me $40 for it!

Willing to take your Redskins Ticket - If you Pay me - $50 (DC)

monday 2014-12-01# tix : 1

I am willing to take 2 redskins tickets off your hands if you are willing to pay me to go through the torture of watching them embarrass themselves again on Sunday (let alone the pains of going to FedEx Field, i.e. the worst dump on the planet).

As a lifelong fan who just became old enough to care after our 91 Superbowl, I've had to live through 2+ decades of absolute excrement from this team and it's soulless owner. I recently paid pretty good money for lower bowl tickets to the Bucs game. I decided to jump on the tickets before the Vikings game, convinced that RGIII would lead us to a victory, making the Bucs game a chance at getting to .500*. The skins lost, of course, and prices plummeted. To rub salt in my financial miscalculations, the Skins went on to get destroyed by the lowly Bucs, and our "franchise saving qb" was en-route to getting permanently benched.

*Why did I think the Redskins would win? Because I have a sickness which always makes me think the Redskins will be better than the last place garbage they always end up being. This sickness causes me to continue to make excuses to my wife as to why I should keep watching. After last week's game, I fear my only argument in continuing to follow this hopeless organization is to get paid for my troubles. And the benefit for you is that you won't have to feel bad about not going to the game and contributing to another empty, lifeless crowd at FedEx!

If the weather is above 50 degrees, I'll take them off your hands for $50. If it's below 50 degrees, it'll take $100 to lure me to middle of nowhere Maryland in the freezing cold, pay $10 for expired beers, and to watch our defense give up repeated 60 yard bombs.
