Default Do you call back missed calls on caller ID

I get people call me from both cell/home phones and ask "who is this did you call me???"

They see the number on caller id and may not recognize it, run into this a lot with my teenage driving school

I will see numbers come up on my cell that I missed or was too busy to answer and if they do not leave a message I never call it back. I figure if it was important they would leave a message

I get two or three of these a day at our office. You answer the phone and hear "did you call me" well who is this. We then proceed to tell them that several people could have called did they listen to the msg. and its pretty much always no. Well why the hell do you have you phone set up to take messages?

I am the same way. I do google the ones that didn't leave a message and find they are usually cold calls from businesses I do not want to deal with.

Return missed calls? I won't answer even when it's not missed.
Most of the time when I recognize an incoming call I will wait for it to quit ringing then send them a text saying Saw you called. Whats up?

It also annoys me to no end when I bother to leave a voice-mail (which I only do if it's important) and that person calls me back without first checking the message I left.

I usually call back and use a funny voice and ask them if their refrigerator is running. Then, when they say, "why yes, it is", I say "well, you'd better go catch it!" and then I laugh and hang up.

I don't answer if I don't recognize the number. If they leave a message they might get called back. If not, then hell no.

I am an engineer and it drives me crazy if I don't know the "why" so most of the time I do call back.

You don't answer because you're driving the train?

I call every missed call back before listening to the messages on my cell phone. At work I listen to the message first.

My cell phone not the businesses, no message no call back. I do Google the number and like the above said, it is cold calling fund raisers. I look at it this way, I'm paying the bill for my convenience to have a cell phone to reach out and touch my family when need be. Or find out from a buddy when the garage bar is open and the game is on!!

if I don't know the # and they are calling my cellphone, I end up putting the # in our system at work, to see if its a client, if that is a no go, then I end up googling the #

I hate picking up #s I don't know.

How I handle it.
*I don't call back if I don't know who they are.

*If they are some kinda sales pitch - I just hit my 'Mr Number' app and they can't bother me again. Get lots as my business phone number forwards to my cellular.

*If you are a friend and I have your number in my contacts, I have likely told you already, don't leave a message unless you know I'm on a plane or offshore. I will see you called and call you back.

^^ This pretty much sums it up for me.^^
The ones I hate, and for some reason they're mostly at work, is when I answer the phone and the first thing I hear is "who's this?" I answer back once "who's this" and if they respond the same way I next tell them "this is the guy who's gonna hang up on you in about 2 sec's if you don't identify yourself." 95% of the time I get a name.

Yup
If it's important there'll be a message.
I don't answer the phone, period. If I see it's someone I want to talk to,ill call you back.
All business, dentists, doctors, marine fisheries, etc.Get my home phone number. If I get a message, and it needs a response, I'll respond . All others are deleted. The phone is a request not a demand.

Don't ask why, because I don't know. I did answer the home phone last week I say "hello"and the caller( a guy)
Says," ahh hello,is this Alice?" I say" yea this is f'n Alice "
He says" sorry, wrong number" I say" ya think"?

If I don't recognize the number I would expect a voicemail would be left if I don't pickup. If I do recognize the number I expect they will not leave a vm and I'll call them back. I can't stand it when somebody I know leaves me a voicemail. It is rare I'll check cell phone voicemails anyway. Maybe once every two weeks.

I always type the number in, with no dashes or parentheses, to my search bar and google it. You will immediately see the number come up on a bunch of spam sites if it's spam.
