Default Cops Stealing/Sending Nude Photos

Correct me if I am wrong, but isn't this a criminal act, and shouldn't be treated as such? If I were to do this, it would be a sex crime.

Only a crime when us lowly citizens do it.

The unfortunate part is him claiming "everyone does it" which the general public has no way of knowing.

For what it is worth, I don't think the majority of people believe him when he says that. I don't.

I had a friend get a DUI in high school. The arresting officer went through his pictures and found some nude pics of my friends girlfriend. Phone records proved that the officer sent these pictures out to multiple people before forfeiting the phone to the jail.

Lawyers told my friend he had no case, and the only case would be one brought on by his girlfriend. The PD basically told my friend to go screw himself or bring a lawyer. Of course my friend did not want to tell his gf that her nude pics were being circulated, so It was dropped there.

Moral of the story, there are some good cops out there. But most are power hungry pigs who aren't worthy of taking out my trash, forget being a police officer responsible for people's safety.....

Cops are only the first arm of who will take your liberty and everything valuable to you. It is a shame it may end up in a fight. Most of these ignorant SOB's are so revved up behind their badges they fail to realize they are just great big friggen tools. Their responsibility will be to draw heat to the point that marshall law will be declared and then it is on......Pick a side, the road is going to get real bumpy.....

I disagree that cops are out to take your liberty, and that "most are ignorant SOB's revved up behind their badges." But that's your opinion, and you are certainly entitled to it.

I most definitely would agree that there are a few SOB'S that make "most" of them look bad.

How are the police getting past the PINs?

Is it one of those, "If you haven't done anything wrong, you have nothing to hide, so give us what we want?"

I do not believe this to be true. I believe that most are good but the other few sure make a big enough damn mess to ruin it for everybody. A department of 100 officers will have a few bad ones. Of course those will be the ones that have the headlines multiple times so the media tips the scales pretty noticeably.

Good question. But surprisingly enough, most people don't lock their phones. Not that I have anything to hide, but mine only opens with a biometric finger swipe or password. Cop wants to see what's on it? Get a warrant. It's really as simple as that.

Some people never learn, though. Gotta love it when I see a Facebook post to the whole world from a friend that says (nicely, because it's Dockside) "Hey everybody! I really like <African American> <body part attached to groin>. Can anybody help me find a BIG <same as before> <same as before> for my <posterior>???." Have to laugh, because the idiot was drunk and some buddy of his snagged his unlocked phone.

I always respond with the same thing -- "And this is why we LOCK our cell phones!"

Only reason I have to have a pin. Not even drunk. My sober friends. You leave it on the bar, unlocked, or on the coffee table, it is fair game. The fun begins when you see someone enter the pin, and change it.
