Few people remember when St. Augustine was THE tourist attraction in Florida. I'm glad to see it has survived and is growing.

Or am I? It still had some "Old Florida" atmosphere. Well, time will tell.

Bill,

It has been changing some over the last 15 years but where hasn't it. I have lived here for almost 30 years and nearby for almost 40. Old town has always been fun and nice.

Matanzas is the last natural inlet on the east coast of Florida. I've studied/watched our east coast inlets for decades, and it is the benchmark for the effects of stabilization on an inlet. Only recently has the south side eroded enough to take out old A1A.

My daughter went to Flagler for a while. She liked the area also. Besides all the tourist traps, there's a great stock of architectural and historic properties worth visiting.

Bill

Your very right. I always encourage anyone visiting to at least take the 20 minute ride down the road and see Matanzas Inlet, it is beautiful. We go there during the summer and pull up on the beach by the fort, another neat piece of history..

Bill, my daughter graduated Flagler also..
