Have no clue about recovery, but I hope its a speedy one!
I'm just across the river from you in Goochland.

Hopefully your appendix surgery was a routine one. Mine was an emergency and the doctors had to really cut me open. Took me two weeks to be able to walk properly. I swear I felt like I survived an autopsy. It was absolutely brutal. Barbaric!

I have a scar that's vertical and about 6" long. Total numbness in the whole area around the scar extending about 3" in every direction. Weird feeling if that region gets touched.

Hope you have a speedy and less painful recovery!

Standard removal shouldn't be too bad. You will walk like a hunchback for a few days. Moving will be somewhat painful. Laughing and coughing will hurt like hell.

DONT push it when you are recovering... Do what the doctor says, don't risk irritating the incision on stitches... Ask me how I know.

I can walk already - worst part about it is I can't go harass the cobia for a few days ! And they're in right now. I have 3 small cuts in my belly not sure why?

The three small cuts in your belly are probably the incisions for the laparoscopic ports. Here's a link to info on the procedure http://www.sages.org/publications/pa...my-from-sages/ I had my appendix removed at 1 am and was discharged by 4 pm and went to the movies that night. Just don't lift anything heavy and let your body guide you on the recovery time....don't push it, it will let you know what it's ready for and when.

Probably they were just goin' back in to get in some of the stuff they "forgot" - you know, coffee cups, candy bar wrappers, "instructions", etc.!

Seriously, hope you do well and TAKE IT EASY, as others have said - will probably be sore for a while and you don't want to push it!

I had hernia surgery last October and was scared to death - first time "under" since about 1959 when I had my tonsils out! Everything went very well, though! Only problem was I herad a LOT of LAUGHING (females!) while I was "out"?

The fish will WAIT for you!

(I'm not real far away from you either - Mechanicsville.)

Regards,

Just the FEMALE ones (with the white stockings and garter belts! ) - I had a male nurse for the pre-op prep (hernia). Men don't shave other men very well.

Let em' powder your balls for a few days as long as you have Obamacare (or private insurance). Don't rush it. 3 weeks to be normal isn't an uncommon recovery time. It is a very serious operation due to the areas surrounding the appendix and the internal sutures.

Heal fast. With Obamacare they don't do enemas anymore, they just slap the Sh$t out of you.

Same thing here. My op was in 1977, I think they used a hatchet to open me up. Cut through major stomach muscles to locate busted appendix.....long painful recovery. Nowadays that can all be avoided.
