Default New patio- Pour In Place EDPM granules

We are going to resurface a patio this fall. Anyone have any experience with the EDPM rubber granules as an overlay? I know they use simular stuff for playgrounds.

Like the idea of a seamless patio, soft on feet and can customize the installation.

I've walked on lots of it at various playgrounds that we've been at with the kids. I actually like the stuff... however I have some concerns in your application.

1) Chlorine. Is that an issue?
2) Colors... I think it comes in lots of colors, so that shouldn't be a problem.
3) Shade? If you have shade... go for it. If it's in direct sun... ehhhh... I don't think so IMHO.

I'll be doing our patio shortly... it'll be Turkish Travertine. Affordable, looks great and super cool.

From what I'm reading, the EDPM granules do not hold heat-like concrete/pavement/rocks/sand.

Seems like parks are installing this stuff, do not hear people talking about how hot parks are.

One thing I like is the idea that it will be a good overlay. Pulling up the current concrete patio and misc pavers is something we are looking to avoid.
