I would rather sit on a roof top with a rifle (.280) with a scope. Much more discouraging, their buddy is helping them get a tv one min, on the ground with a hole in their head the next, and nobody knows where the shot came from.

I am truly embarressed as a American to see what is happening in New Orleans , the mayor and the governor are in a power struggle for being in charge and the city is in chaos ...time for marshal law.........I can't believe that the looters are so brazen.I could understand if these people were to feed their families but what in the hell do you do with a big screen TV in a flooded city with no electricty. Some of the looters were even interviewed and said they are looting because society owes something to them personally. Looters have shot a police officer and are shooting at rescue choppers and boats trying to rescue people from drowning. In some of the TV clips they have shown officers making the looters drop their stuff but not arresting them and just a bit ago I was reading that two NOPD officers were filmed by a news crew looting themselves in a Walmart there. I don't know how reliable the information is but if it is the truth they need to be taken out and shot in a public square for a example. I remember a few years ago Asian-Americans defended their business' in midst of the LA riots with shotguns and semi-auto rifles from the roofs of their buildings. .308,7.62x39 .223 and 12 gauge buckshot and slugs would be my choice

There are bands of armed thugs roaming the streets, taking potshots at rescue boats and helos. The rescue operation has been called off for now due to this.
The army needs to send in more helos.....
Apache and Cobra gunships would be the ticket.
These thugs won't stop until they see a few of their buddies torn to shreds by some automatic fire from an Apache's chain gun.

WTH??? WHERE IN THE HELL did these idiots get the guns and ammo??? Guess that's what they decided to "SAVE" from the water in their housing projects??? GOOD GRIEF!!!

I WAS the voice of reason - now I say LET 'R RIP!!!!

And if they're taking shot at the helicopters, etc...don't they (the good guys) have REASON to shoot at these morons??!

UN-F**KING-BELIEVABLE....and totally unthinkable, BUT given their mentality - totally understandable.

Any caliber will work. Some just need better placement than others.

I like a challenge once in a while

Bigger the dirt ball, better the challenge.

AND SOME PEOPLE WONDER WHY WE OWN GUNS

Theoretically a .22 short, in the back of the head, just above the spinal column.

But whatever you can put on target is acceptable. Guns are tools. Use what you have and get the job done. As the Russians say, "Perfect is the enemy of good enough."

I personally would favor 7.62X39 as a good all around cartridge. Ballistically similiar to .30-30 but being rimless it functions reliably in semi-auto and automatic weapons. Has enough mass to be noticed and anything too far away to hit is probably not really a threat to you either. I love my Simonov but that 75 round drum under my MAK-90 will probably settle more disputes in my favor without having to make noise.

That 20mm automatic sniper cannon that Bruce Willis used in that movie the Jackal. It really messed Jack Black up.

Any high power rifle with a ballistic tip or hollow point bullet. FMJ achieves penetration, frangible bullets achieve explosive cavitation.

20mm cannon? Yeah, I saw that movie. You remember when he aimed at the hand and blew off the elbow and said "I was right. 3 millimeters off.&quot I'm sure he mis-read the script and it should have been '3 mils.' What do you think?

Movie people never get it right. They always portray a firearm as being so powerful that it can throw a person back when hit by a round. BS. That never happens. Most movie-goers have no idea what they're watching.

Kamper...you and I think alike. Hmmm. Merrimack and the Monitor. North and South. New Hampshire and Arkansas (Texas). Go figure, we meet on common ground. I must say there are people here that still wave the confederate flag and say "the south will rise again". They need to get over it. The south lost fair and square and now we're United. We need to stay that way.
