Default Rig Hook Help!

I am tired of my rig hook getting bent, pulling the cleats loose etc, I know there is a rubber strap made and some sort of a rubber tube with holes in each end that you thread your rope around but don't know what these are called or where to get one from! Help ! Boat is a 25' CC, 4500lb.

Not sure how big your boat is, but back when I was using a rig hook for my 18'CC I'd use a 20' section of heavy 1/2" bungee.

After that I'd add a length of poly rope with a float on it and a big snap so that I could release quickly. Worked great even in some pretty good sized seas. No stress on either hook or cleats.

pitch the hook
nothing but a pain in the ass

get a sturdy line and tie a buckle or clip a carabiner on the end loop
pitch it over a horizontal member on the rig and pull back to you with a boat hook
tie off
