800 Isis troops made 30,000 troops turn tail. Really? Really? They don't even deserve a pound of bacon. I would love to be able to get Saddam back in power - they had and they will get the government they deserve.

The quote from the movie The good bad and ugly when Clint tells Eli "God is not on our side because he hates idiots" is spot on what a mess

Like Korea and Nam, we lost a lot of brave boys in a cause doomed to failure.

Remember that the Castro brothers and Che took Cuba from Batista and his cronies with an "army" that had grown to around 700 by the time they won the whole thing. This was after they had been reduced to almost nothing after they landed from Mexico. If your opponent sucks and has no loyalty to their bosses, then they are not all that tough to beat.

Yep. The ARVNs held on for 2 years after we left and well this looks similar but different. Nam had no oil and Iraq is really not as poorly trained in the rest of the country and they say that Shia solders are signing up. A tripartite solution could be possible too. Weird now that we sorta chose a lsid (Maliki gov't) that Iran is on too. This keeps getting more and more complicated. I guess the other "good news" is that if ISIS only had 800 troops to throw into this battle they can't have that much - then again they now have millions form the banks they looted in Mosul. Maybe they will finally have the civil war all us Western Nations have so arrogantly prevented the last 60 years . Only a ruthless dictator could hold those bozo's and religious whakkos together as ONE country.
