Default North side of JAX. Is it safe?

I know this could be posted in the FLA forum, but I know that others may have knowledge of the area.

We are moving next month to Amelia Island. While we are not sure where we want to live on the island, we have decided to rent, until we decide. There are very few available long term rentals that are available to meet our needs. I decided to look outside the area.

Well, I found a house for rent in North Jacksonville on the Trout River. I have never been in that area, so I am going blind. The house has a dock and a lift and would be great to rent. It is located off of Broward Rd., on the North side of the Trout River.

Is this a decent area? Is it safe?

I worked off kings road just west of I95 a few miles south of where your talking about and to call it a zoo would be putting it nicely.

Isn't that where the actual zoo is? But seriously, the OP was talking about Ameilia Island initially and things apparently went south quickly.....figuratively and literally.

Thanks for the replies. Here is the approximate location, on Tusla Court, just West of I-95.

It is slightly West of I-95, on Tulsa Court. https://www.google.com/maps/place/10...396825de000f31

Dan,

Try this also for help.

Burglary crimes seem to be a pretty good indicator of other crimes and a good crime to research(drugs and violent crime).. They all start out stealing stuff then progress

I have a totally restored historic house (1906) for sale in historic 'Springfield' are of JAX. Cracker can tell you what a wonderful neighborhood it is. You can walk to Hooters at JAX Landing in 20 minutes. Actually its a lot better than it used to be. We live in North Carolina but were planning to retire there.

However, like you we've decided that we really want to be on Amelia Island so we bought a lot in the historic area of Fernandina Beach were we plan to build an retire in four years. Its four or five blocks from the marina. Can't wait. I'll make you a hell of a deal on the other house! I'll throw in a Sig for the nightstand as an incentive.

No, wait a minute, I think Cracker wants to live in Springfield. I guess he's got first dibs on it. In his case I'll throw in a Glock for an incentive.

Hal

Your a bad man..Lil

What they have done is pushed the crime that was centrally located downtown and spread it all over the suburbs... All the public housing that was downtown has now been moved to the Westside.

Yeah, when we visit we don't don't hear the 1 AM gunshots like we used too. Its actually pretty quiet now. Now, if they'd just move the soup kitchens and rehab centers from downtown and put them in "they're" (the politicians and doogooders) neighborhoods.

BTW the Sig and Glock offers still stand Both have night sights!

Reel Boobs,

We deal with Dorathea Stillwell @ Century 21 in Fernandina. she or someone from there office should be able to help find a rental. I know Dorathea has several herself. Her number is (904) 583-1262.

welcome to the murder capital of florida. You will never be safe and you better get used to setting the alarm every time you leave the house and you better check your alarm every month to make sure they are receiving the signal. Also, get concealed weapons permit.
