Default Box store RANT

Parking lot at local Home Depot had twenty signs that read "PRO PARKING" I went there one day and thought to myself I'm a pro well one of the store employees walking by made the remark that it was for Pro's.

I told him to get it towed, I dare you !

Well if it wasn't enough to piss on the average customer, they now have rental machines, trucks and trailers taking up about a third of the parking spaces.
To say nothing about the bushes and flower.

I'm becoming a regular at Lowes.

You should've just said to him "I'm in the lines. I'd like to see a pro parker do a better job."

I'm a Lowes guy. I've never been to Home Depot without something going wrong, employees being rude, or something else along those lines.

Let's not make light of this.

Cause that $339.00 storm door is the last thing I'm buying, unless the wife tells me to pickup another of her purchases

This is close enough to a threat to justify drawing your weapon on him.
Here in the Sunshine State it is rare for store employees or anyone for that matter to threaten you over the manner in which you park.

Home Depot dinged my credit rating about 10 years ago when they misapplied the proceeds of a ten dollar return to the wrong account, which in turn made my payment $10 short. Used to put through $20k or so most years, sometimes more.

Things happen, I understand. But they refused to address the issue, and would not withdraw or correct the letter to the agencies. Didn't cause me a problem, but I never darkened their door again.

Lowe's treats me very well. First name, friendly basis with several of the staff, and still spend a ton.

HD sux.

I have the opposite opinion for Lowes. I can never seem to find all the "parts" for a project at Lowes, and sometimes not even the one thing that I go there for.
Home Depot on the other hand, has all the items, almost all the time!

IMO, around here anyway, Lowes seems to be the household (women's) store, and Home Depot is more for the "trade" guys.

I was about to post exactly this, but clearly we go to the same Lowes.

The one in Pompano - I will go in needing 30 parts for a project - they will have exactly 28 of them in stock, which I'll find out after collecting the first 70% of them. I've actually tried to explain that to their employees before, you can imagine how that went.

Like "Why do you have nine hundred 45 degree pipe elbows, but not a single 90 degree?"

There are still a few mom and pop ace hardware stores left here. They seem to have everything in stock. Even marine stuff

100% of my home improvement needs are met by Lowes. With that being said, when I buy things for work, sometimes I have to go to Home Depot, electrical boxes, circuit breakers, random commercial things. We try to support local small businesses when feasible, so for everything pipe we go to a local pipe dealer, nuts and bolts we go to a place that sells nothing but nuts, bolts and screws. I'd rather pay 5-10% more and support people trying to get by in the world.
But for my needs, Lowes is king, I would save tons of money if I didn't have to walk by the damn tool world every time I walk in though. Haha.

I prefer HD over Lowes. I'm a bit further north but the same thing happens if I happen to be in a Lowes. Now I just avoid the place.

HD near me was a sh!t hole before Lowes opened up a mile away. Then I started to go to Lowes. It was brighter, cleaner, and more organized. BUT, I could never find what I was looking for. Started going back to HD and they seemed to have stepped up their game due to the close proximity of Lowes and their competition. Now I just go to either one that I think will have what I want.

I like lowes better. I know the layout better. I spend well over 50k a year at lowes, maybe 2k at HD. Tops.

That they would tell you it was pro parking is just absurd. Good response on your part.

Edit- the lowes in my town is he fifth busiest (volume wise) in the nation, first in the southeast region. So they can afford to hire and retain top notch help in some of the busier sections. Their pro services section is outstanding. I scan them a 100 item plus list and two days later it arrives at my house. A few of hue hem I actually give permission to swap items for me too.

That probably plays a factor in my choice.

Answer to lot boy- What makes you think I'm not a pro? I have a commercial account, I don't always have the truck, tough luck.
