Default Haha, NASCAR is such a joke!

Nascar is approaching the level of professional wrestling, IMO. The first race the #3 car is back and it "gets" the pole at Daytona!...Yeah, ok, that wasn't predetermined in order to draw fans at all. I used to be somewhat of a fan and i think Dale, Sr was the Man but, he must be turning over in his grave seeing what they have done to Nascar since he left us.

I like Nascar. But they sure do have way too many of these feel good moments.

I hate to say it fishtale, but I'm agreeing with this type of thought regarding Nascar more and more these days. I was a huge fan of Dale Sr. and tried to stay interested for years after his death but it's just changed now, and not for the better imo.

Not trying to be a "Dick" here.......but how did it take you guys so long to come to grips with your feelings regarding this so called "Sport". Can't get much more white trash then this in my opinion! Hell, the very reason the entire thing started was because of the red neck mountain men running moon shine for gosh sakes.

More of these folks have been involved in blatant cheating more then any other sport out there and that is certainly saying a LOT!!!!

Again, just my opinion.

The outcome of the race doesn't really have anything to do with who sits on the pole anyway. It's decided by how many friends you have. I lost interest in watching these races on TV a long time ago but they're still a blast to watch in person. Over the last ten years we've managed to get tickets to Daytona about 4 times for free.

I'm not a big fan of NASCAR! but have you ever been to a race? If not, you ought to go. Personally, I like the small town quarter mile racing...hardly any money in it. Those guys do it for the pure sports.

By the way, I resent your redneck comment. You ever met Junior Johnson? Definitely not a redneck...

Ever since all the west coast Yankees and east coast Yankees got in it, it has gone downhill. I haven't watched it much since Davey Allison got killed. But I live in Mooresville, NC and have to deal with all these Yankees that come down here to be a Nascaaar (excuse the accent) driver or mechanic. Makes me sick. Who wants to watch a bunch of brats get out there and race? Back in the day it was fun to watch "real men" race on "real tracks". I wasn't a loyal fan at that time but there were some good races in the 70's, 80's and 90's. They have lost so much fan base that they are trying anything to get a crowd and its driving people away.

After Dale Sr. was killed in his famous number 3 car, his replacement Kevin Harvick, who miraculously won his first race on his third attempt.Fans would have you believe Dale Sr was guiding him from above, others finally believed the rumors that writers from Days of Our Lives were actually hired to script the races. You decide.(I am sure to get some hate mail now)lol.

I enjoy most forms of racing, mainly motorcycle, but watching NASCAR on tv is pretty boring for the most part to me.I would like to go to an actual race though just to walk the pits and experience it live.

I am sure NASCAR has lost some loyal fans in the last few years with the changes it has made, but it has probably picked up some also.I like the ten race season finale to determine the championship, some don't.What has impacted NASCAR along with most other sports is the economy of the last few years.Top teams are struggling to find sponsorship, while fans don't have the disposable income of years past.

I watch motorcycle racing more than anything else and the AMA roadracing schedule has gone from 12 races in 2012, 10 in 2013, to 5 for this season.Even on the world scene there are very few paid rides compared to years past. There are several riders having to pay the team to ride due to lack of sponsorship that would have been well paid in years past.It all comes back to money, something fans and teams alike are having trouble finding.

NASCAR is suffering from the same thing as every other professional sport. Lack of loyalty and the thought that parity is a good thing. Free agency has ruined pro sports IMO, along with the constant meddling of the politically correct commissioners.

I've got a buddy who was a #3 fan. I'm sure he fell hook, line, and sinker for how that played out. He will be glued to the TV. He's into pro wrastling too. This stuff hit the target audience square in the noggin.

My comments were in retaliation of Spraynet's. I don't give a damn about the sport anymore. No more good ole boys involved, just a bunch of rich, spoiled, brats from up north and out west. Nascar took the good tracks like Rockingham and North Wilkesboro out of the equation hoping to fill the seats with larger tracks that have absolutely no action and it backfired. When Dale Sr, Darrell Waltrip and the likes were racing, you could go into any bar around and the buzz was about racing, No more. Like others said, it's more in the ranks of professional wrestling now. They are trying anything to fill the stands and hardly no one is buying it. Sorry, if I offended you.

Seems like what Spraynet said might be offensive to race fans, but not sure what it had to do with Yankees in the sport?

FWIW, even your "Good Ol' Boys" are spoiled rich brats anymore. Except they are from everywhere. There's no bigger money whore than DW in my opinion. Listen to him in the booth and he will say whatever NASCAR tells him to say. He has long forgotten the days of the Good Ol' Boys and traded it in for a cushy, high paying corporate job. Just one example of many..

This problem is not about geography like you say, its about money.
