Default coming out?

I never felt the need to "come out" as a hetero. But A recent news blurb is getting headlines about some actress that came out gay, publicly. I never heard of her either way.

Why does being gay = having to exclaim it to the world, when frankly I don't think too many people care about orientation? What they do care about is it being force fed everytime you turn around.

Just be gay if that's your thing.

I agree with you, but just to play devils advocate, it's reasonable to say that when a gay person declares they are out of the closet, they aren't talking to you, or to me

Her name is Ellen Page and she was fantastic in the movie Juno.

Anyway, she gave an impassioned and moving speech and well worth a watch. It's a little over eight minutes long. Watching the video may help to someway explain why she publicly "came out".

I thought it was a brave decision and I admire her courage.

Ellen Page, what a waste. Cute girl. Rosie Odonnell I can somehow understand.

If they both have in action videos, which one would you want to watch?

Made it through about 30 seconds. BFD, we don't need a show. Courage, brave??

For the record, I'm not a homophobe. I don't give a crap which way you come or go.

Why do people say coming out is a courageous act?

Not my idea of courage. Seems more of a "look at me, I'm special " selfish act.

Couldn't agree more.

My sexuality doesn't define who I am as a person. Neither should theirs. I get a little sick of hearing gay this, gay that. If admitting to the world that you're gay is "brave," then we're further down the toilet as a nation than I thought. Brave is going into a burning house to save someone's dog. Brave is dodging IEDs and Taliban bullets. Brave is taking a domestic violence call. Brave IS NOT telling the world you like to sleep with other women.

This has been in the news for a week+/-, I guess because the draft is coming up but he told his team mates last August.

NFL's first openly gay player?

The only reason to come out is to get onto 'The Ellen Show'.

Seems there is always a lot of drama in their gayness, these new relationships should be a boon to family law practicioners when they crumble.
