Default Boat show scab

I have a boat for sale and there is a boat show here in NJ. How bad would it be to tow my boat over there with a for sale sign on it outside and not on the property? Match the hatch to a certain degree. I won't do it but just thinkin.

As long as you don't park it in an area where it would be towed, go for it.

Do you think boat salesman would offer you the same professional courtesy? Not likely. Raid the party and sell your boat.

I think this is pretty common at smaller shows and nautical flea markets round these parts.

I've seen it done around here.....not common but it's "allowed". Just be prepared for 50 trailer trash drunks and their kids to climb all over your boat while it's sitting in the lot.

I've seen it done around my parts often. I don't think it's trashy, oppurtunistic is more like it.

In addition to bringing your boat, make up a flyer and put it on the windshield of every car parked at the show

I see this every year on the way to the Norwalk show. At least a half dozen boats on trailers with FSBO signs along the last two miles or so.

EXACTLY!!!! I just did the boat show here in VA beach and yeah. We put a full audio system in it and that's why it was there but I had every asshole with $3,500 wanting to buy my boat. It didn't even have a FS sign on it and I'd have people ask me " want to sell your boat" and I would say yes….. I'll sell it and they would slap me in the face with some stupid ass number. I had one Asian guy say "I'll give you 13,000"(and he was dead serious) and I chucked and told him I would sell him the audio system and the fuel that is in it for that! And his reply was "I'll stick with my grady". It was insulting to say the least. I wish he had told me he had a 1982 Grady first as I would have ended the conversation with NO when he said "do you want to sell"……….

Very common practice at car auctions. You will see cars on trailers for sale up to a few miles from the auction in various parking lots.

I did it, AND I printed up flyers and spread them around inside the mall where the boat show was at. I contacted a guy that had a house next door to the mall and offered him $50 to let me keep the boat in his driveway for a week but he said NO. I contacted another guy a couple doors down and he said no problem and wouldn't even take my $50. I ended up selling my boat to a guy that seen one of the flyers inside of the mall.

Hey whatever it takes is my motto (within reason and being legal)!
