Default Officer needs retraining

My God, what was he thinking, how do you place yourself in this situation. I'm not a COP but I won't be placing myself in harms way like this for any amount of pay. He's a lucky guy IMO.

It is all about being aware of whats around you. He did not do a great job of that and could have easily had his weapon taken, and been killed. I am not a LEO, but I have plenty of friends who are. They talk about this regularly.

I was scared for him from the get go, you just don't want a situation to get out of hand when it's 1 on 1, when the presumed bad guy has back up it can get real bad real quick. Having them both within 3 feet of you is not healthy.

I just watched it again and realized, he's a sargent, so he's been around awhile, not a rookie at all.

That is a shooting situation once the officer gets grabbed and thrown to the ground... One lucky officer, he got tunnel vision and it about cost him his life..

I don't get the part where the video says the perp is being brutalized/arrested....

The cop might have been using a little force....but the two guys were a good bit bigger than he was.

He had his gun drawn...someone was lucky they didn't get shot.

How the hell can you say that from a 27 second clip????? You nor I have no idea what transpired, in spite of what haters think, police do have to put hands on people to enforce the LAWS at times. Most people are not happy about being arrested..

I won't say this guy was right...but putting yourself "in harm's way" is kinda what cops do.

Looks like the guys buddy sure didn't think so. Maybe, just maybe harms way is not needed 24/7 . What ever happened before the clip started it had already moved in the cops mind to sit down, shut up and that gun as always has to be pulled.
Agree you can't tell what transpired from the first, but the only thing we can get out the clip is the cop won't gong to let the tall guy explain his side and his buddy sure felt the cop was wrong. I"m sure who ever clipped the movie had that in mind when they did it only because the cop got took down.
You give a attitude you get a attitude.

Not really, not if I feel your views are warranted and you didn't express a view on the video. You took it off topic to a reassuring statement. . If some one didn't have a difference of opinion or see things differently , everything would always be kinda one sided wouldn't it. ;? You see things from a cops point of view. We see things from the receiving end of the cops point of view and that's dead on. .........
Its already like that on the street Beatcop. Think thats what the video was suppose to represent. Apparently his buddy felt the show of force won't needed either. Thats all any of us can get out the video because it was cut to short at the first. ;?
Calling it like I see it BC ;?
His friend, brother, what ever felt the cop was wrong and had a attitude or not fair. . If he didn't he would not of jumped him. He was also the one that kept the tall guy from kicking the cop on and on.
That all any of us saw.

who the hell is "we" and "us" you and the mouse in your pocket or you and some fo the dumbest people on the face of the planet

when you are going to get arrested by necessity the cop will put their hands on you to get your hands behind your back and to get the cuffs on

since when is it the domain of some other drunken asshole standing there to decide if what the cop is doing is necessary or not and to react with violence against the cop......what type of total and complete moron thinks that ;?

I have been pulled over probably 30 to 40 times (so many I can't remember) and I have had numerous other interactions with cops and not once have I ever come close to having a cop get violent with me or be abusive

it is really not that hard to have an interaction with the police and not get beat down by them even if you think what they are doing is "wrong" and especially if what you are doing was wrong and brought the contact upon yourself

only a complete and total dumbass ends up in a physical confrontation with a cop over something that starts as a contact in a store parking lot even when drunk

one of the idiots in the video got 6 years and the other got 9 so again there were many others that seem to not agree with your imaginary "we" and "us" including a judge and possibly a jury as well

do stupid things with cops and get stupid results that is pretty much a given

There are different degrees of harms way you can place yours looked like this cop in this instance took his eye off the ball in this instance. Could have wound up dead very easily. You have to place yourself in a better position then the one he placed himself in.
